Getting raped and beaten by a spouse is pretty fucking horrific too. Have you given anything to end the violence against men? Let me first say this. I do not have a problem with you and have not indicated so in any of my above postings…or ever. So I really do not understand why you feel the need to single me out specifically and hate on me but whatever. And yes, I do not post much.
Second, I never ever in any of my above statements ever said that women getting beaten or raped was ok either. NEVER. Not for a second. I am a subscriber to women and men being treated fairly. I think it’s messed up that a college professor that is a woman only makes 50 thousand and a male in the same exact postion makes 60. I ALSO think female mutilation is messed up and terrible as well. In my above quote I stated that ANYONE I repeat ANYONE getting mutilated is terrible. Common sense would lead you to believe that because of my staunch stand on female mutilation I would also find Spousal abuse and domestic violence equally abhorent on any level.
Thirdly, Some pretty brazen, disgusting, tasteless jokes are made not only on this site, but in real life as well. I would truly be fighting a losing battle if I were to jump on every comedian, every college kid or whomever, who enjoys telling dark humor. I studied theater in college among other things. Trust me I get it. But the important notion to remember is that these jokes that are being told are in jest in relation to no particular singular incident. Does that make these jokes right to tell? Probably not. But they are still jokes on the darker side of humor. This situation is MUCH different IMO. Stop getting SO emotional about the subject and include some rationalization. These are WOMEN Joking about a REAL LIFE INCIDENT which wound up with the victim being mutilated for LIFE. Point me out any discussion on these forums where a male has malciously laughed at a female beating, mutilation, or domestic violence. I will not find that funny either, but for the most part I don’t think you’ll find that.
Fourth and finally, I have realized over the past year to two years just how much backbitting and double standards exsist in so many issues regarding being a male. I think it’s pretty closed minded to say I have to march to get my opinion across or doing something for everyone to say “look at that guy.” IT is AWESOME that you have helped so many with your charity and endeavours. You are part of the solution when you help in any way. Even small. If I can convince just my group of friends that this is wrong I have still made a difference and contributed to the overall effort. If a women gives her last six cents to charity and another gives 1 million dollars whose contribution meant more? It’s also very telling of someone who assumes someone does nothing to contribute to a cause just casue he/she is not shouting on the rooftops of what they are doing. I’ve been developing a short book on How males see themselves and how they should carry themselves and their relationships with women. We can all help very untraditional ways that can still be powerful and effective.
