No, he gained about 10-13lbs which is great, but he pretty much looked the same.
I think his arms were initially 9". I thought that was funny because I have a really skinny friend whose arms are 10".
Also, during that particular scene he asked his coach how big his arms were, and he said “a lot bigger than that.” What’s funny to me is that becomes such a typical response. I answer things like that…without giving concrete numbers (unless they’re close training-friends). It reminds me of the whole Dave Tate mentality of keeping your goals to yourself.
These Made episodes are always the same - the kid gets every opporyunity to become what he/she wants, and they all have to be dragged kicking and screaming towards it.
I mean really - what a generation of overly-entitled, whiny bitches we’re raising. You’re given a golden opportunity, and all you do is cry and complain the whole fucking time…

Agreed, I only skipped through the episode but there wasn’t a single positive moment up until the show.
This has been posted before, but imagine you got such a golden opportunity (in my case maybe a 10-week seminar by Dave Tate, Jim Wendler or someone of that caliber)… Whatever, life ain’t fair and it’s not supposed to be.
Well remember not to miss an important point… somehow, these kids got a HUGE, MEGA opportunity to get truly into something RIGHT when they reach the stage where they just begin to even think about it, not yet considering it. It’s always for the wrong reasons. I remember a girl who wanted to be a rockstar…so what did they first have to do? You got it, teach her to play a guitar in a couple weeks. Everyone is skipping the journey in their thought process and assuming they want to do something based on the end result.
Have any of you guys ever thought about something crazy, like being a rockstar? I mean this realistically. I’m pretty sure I would hate being a rockstar. The lifestyle just isn’t where my values are. Would it be a cool experience? Absolutely, but my point is just that people miss the important details before diving into something.
I watched like 10 minutes of this episode before I couldn’t handle it anymore, apparently his goal for wanting to work out was some chick that doesn’t really like him. I guess now that he gained what looks like 3 pounds of muscle she’s all over him.
i fucking hate this show. Everyone wants to be something else and then they get an opportunity to train with a pro and bitch about the whole thing, I’d rather watch sluts act slutty on reality shows =]
I would pay money to see Thibs be someone’s Made coach. Of course, they would have to make it worth his while to put up with the crap, but it would be funny as hell.

All the time. As for rockstar, it’s the music that really takes my soul so I don’t feel an attachment to the 5 houses and 30 cars rockstardom thing, just kicking ass and playing music that reaches people.
My problem is that I actually want to go out and do all these things: rock climber? check. Photographer? check. Writer? check. pro strongman/PL? check. artist? check. kick ass dancer? check. wandering ass-kicking monk? check. … and on and on and on. I do my best to put in the ground work for all of them, so I can hopefully get a few of them actually under my belt. It’s a curse because there’s never enough time in the day for me to feel like I got everything I wanted to do done.
I agree as far as the show goes though. You have to crawl before walking before runnning before sprinting before winning the Olympics.
Those fuckin’ kids put as much thought into what they wanna be “made” into as when a 5 year old says he wants to be an astronaut.
Shit, I’d at least respect them more if they actually quit and meant it because they hated it, but most of those kids lack the nuts for even that. So they pitch a fit and whine…cause that get’s shit accomplished, right?

that made coach was a fucking saint. i couldnt have dealt with him for more than 10 minutes.[/quote]
I agree. I would have beat thatkid in front of his parents. Which reminds me - when Doug was talking to the parents about the problems he was having/seeing with the kid – who do you think made the kid that way?
What is that, like 3 Made bodybuilding eps, where only 1 guy was actually in shape/contest prepping? And they didnt even DO anything for him, they just filmed him…
Ugh, what a fantastic waste of a great opportunity.

I’m pretty sure a lot of it is faked. I have a friend who’s friend was on Room Raiders. He said that they plant shit if they can’t find anything weird about your room, like porn and used condoms. I’m pretty sure that goes for pretty much every show they put out.
