I think Anonymous has taken on a new maturity as of late, and I like it. Seems like they have solidified their resolve and cast off the idea of anarchy as a solution, adopting Constitutional government as the right way. So long as they keep with this mode of thought, I will stand with them.

Anonymous is wasting their time and so are you.
The American people just reelected Obama. There won’t be an revolt, not now and not in the forseeable future. As long as there are such a large number of people dependent on the US (and state) government everyone is fat and happy. And that number is growing on a regular basis.
The government will continue to take power away from the people under the guise of helping. And the people will eat it up. Also, taxes will continue to climb in order to pay for all of this. And as more money is taken out of the hands of the job creators the economy will continue to falter.
If you want to see America’s future take a look at California. Only the US will be in worse shape as we will compound our economic problems with foreign policy blunders as well.
There…feel better now?
Ha.

Ah, but they do so much better than that.
The ever increasing global information flow not only makes Big Brother possible, it also makes him vulnerable.
To hurt him that way is relatively safe and easy and BB relies heavily on this crutch because he is clumsy, lazy and stupid.

When the government gives people free stuff they become dependent and it takes away their desire to earn for themselves. Then the entitlement mentality takes over and they feel it is their right to take what others have worked for via government hand-outs.
There are now so very many of them that they are a powerful constituency.
Simple.

Zeb, why do you think Anon seeming to help raise awareness and expose the gov’t as powerhungry and bad is a waste of their time? Does their ends HAVE to be revolution? I don’t get why you seem to be against that idea…or is it their method you don’t like?
The main theme I notice with Anonymous is “transparency”.
I don’t think that is a waste of time if it exposes the hypocrisy of the global overlords and also helps to bring their overblown egos back down to earth.
All Anon does is provide fodder for the disillusioned.

Intellectually I love the idea. But I’ve lived long enough to know that it won’t do a bit of good.
We know who is in power and we know what’s going to happen over the next four years. Any effort made to counteract that is theoretically a good thing, but realistically will go absolutely no where!

How do they all resemble conservatives? Do you even know what a conservative looks like?
I don’t understand what was supposed to be taken from this. It was a confetti-explosion of high-profile people ranting, and assholes in uniforms beating on civilians.
WELL over 10 million guns sold in the month of December alone, at the mere mention of a ban, and you think we’re wasting our time?
Our people did not buy guns just to hand them over. We know there will be people who are so scared that they’ll just huddle in fear when the hammer falls. We are trying to prepare those people and encourage the spirit of resistance in them by showing them the red flags that signaled the rise of tyrants past, and point out those same red flags in our society today.
We also know there will be people who support this tyranny just because Big Government promises them an easy life. We know it because it has been this way from the very founding and forging of our nation. To those people, Samuel Adams had a message that rings as true now as it did then:
If ye love wealth better than liberty,
the tranquility of servitude
better than the animating contest of freedom,
go home from us in peace.
We ask not your counsels or your arms.
Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you.
May your chains set lightly upon you,
and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen
3% won our independence against the most powerful military force the world had ever seen. That same force was the perpetrator of the disarmament and enslavement of other nations. ~35% are armed right now, with enough guns for ~85%. So long as we don’t cower in the corners of our homes when they start marching, they don’t stand a chance. Not our government, not the U.N., not the force of every single military soldier in the entire world.
We are not wasting our time. We will not be disarmed. We will not surrender. Why? Because we know history, and heed its wisdom:
~Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn~
JayPierce wrote:

Some people? Ha ha…
Most people who lived around the turn of the century said, “hell no we won’t pay a national income tax.”
But do you know what happened? Sure you do. And why did that happen?
It’s fun to play on the Internet. And no doubt there will be a small minority of people who will battle it out with Police (maybe you’re one of them). But that number will dwindle as soon as a couple hundred or so die in fire fights.
So…take a deep breath and know that when the time comes most US citizens will begrudgingly turn their guns over to the government. Hard to believe isn’t it?
I know, I know, it’s nothing that you can foresee happening, right now. But 20 years ago no one could have seen national health care as a reality. And what happens if you don’t have insurance? A fine is levied. And what happens if you don’t pay the fine? Jail! What happens if you resist? They kill you. End of story.
This is how big government works (the kind Obama loves). The government looks at the populace teh same way a fat man looks at a large roll of salami they are about to eat. And we all know how that’s accomplished, one slice at a time!
Taxes on guns and permit fees will skyrocket. Then maybe there will be buy backs by government first, paying you about four times what the gun is worth. Remember cash for clunkers? “Look we want to do this the easy way you might as well make a profit you’re going to lose your gun anyway.” It’s like a big cement wall that they will chip away at with different measures until they get the desired result.
Uh huh…They’ll get our guns one way or the other
So just relax…and enjoy your freedom while you still have…some of it.

A collection of anonymous people, operating under the name Anonymous, fighting for greater transparency. Yep.
we are all anonymous
