I don’t think you can progress technologically indefinitely. The more complex it gets, the harder it becomes to progress. Going back in term of evolution also becomes easy.
How was their lab coat?
Just because there is most certainly (but no proof as of yet) aliens out there somewhere in the vast universe that in itself is not enough to be a supporting argument for aliens visiting earth.
Humans have said that for ages and yet we have managed to progress further. There are hundreds of examples of people hypothesizing of something that won’t happen and have occurred within a few years.
Maybe not indefinitely but damn close to it.
Aliens have been living amongst us for decades. Most powerful people like politicians and bankers are aliens. Open your minds.
Interesting addition to the topic: Fermi paradox - Wikipedia
Alex Jones is the only one with enough guts to tell the truth.
That was a really read thanks for that. Didn’t know my own theory had a proper name. I’m almost convinced that the likelihood of a God existing is the same that a Alien has us in Zoo as the hypothesis states. There is no proof going against or for either one more so.
Damn
Technology advanced because things were doable in the first place. All the laws of physics are now discovered, and there is very little to discover in that way.
Researchers now are mostly poking around blindly trying to find whatever exotic thing that could have a minor performance increase on something.
The only thing signifiant advance that could happen is nuclear fusion but it won’t. Even if the reaction worked, getting materials that could sustain the temperature around the reaction is a challenge as incredible.
Space travel and colonization arent going to work, too expensive and difficult in term of ressources and organisation. There will not be enough people suited to colonize. How could you make enough offsprings of the colonizers extremely competent like their parents so the colony could continue? Do you think people from the average american ghetto could do that?
Even things that seem mundane like electrical grid power management is actually so complicated that it is a science by itself. Why is germany failing to manage its intermittent green power sources?
Progress by technology is an illusion. Technology isn’t going to save anything, everyone knows that by now. Technology isnt the destiny of humans, what a joke. Only weird geeks believe in that.
The only thing that is progressing steadily in the USA is the amount of chemicals and pollutants in the water, air and food along with the mental illness level in the population.
If it wasnt enough the useless backward religious self centered third world is also taking over and will eclipse the civilised advanced world soon.
That was without a doubt one of the stupidest things I have ever read.
You have a very boxed in view of the world. [quote=“jasmincar, post:51, topic:228586”]

Things are certainly still doable nowadays its just that people don’t have the means to do them. There is no proof that all laws of physics have been discovered as otherwise people would have discovered them. How do you know that in a separate part of the universe that there aren’t more rules or altered rules. You can say they are constant but since they are only constant on one planet.
People think that now is the most advanced time in human history and that things can’t be improved any further, and they have been proved wrong over and over.
Why not? Considering how much the atom has been mastered in recent times it should be possible. Why not a power source more powerful than nuclear discovered. You can’t say there isn’t one as there could definitely be others that haven’t been discovered or imagined.
This is the epitome of the Intellectual vacancy on display from your post. Too expensive? Given how new things always are expensive until they become commonplace then there is little profit margin available. Also do you really think Aliens are as futile over financing things that can help them as humans are. Difficult organisation, what if it was private instead of Public sector like the ISS is, that would eliminate this problem for majority.
Interesting idea, do the Americas as a Continent exist to you or are they an illusion as well? Since advances in technology enabled there discovery from the people now living there in a majority does that mean exist or?[quote=“jasmincar, post:51, topic:228586”]

Weird geeks are the reason you’ll live to 80 years old on average.
Weird geeks are the reason you can turn on the lights on at home.
Weird geeks are the reason you can go on the internet and post this.
I do hope you were intoxicated severely when posting this drivel or was intelligence that much of a rare commodity when you growing up that you believe in this.
First thing I know for a fact and I could personally prove you mathematically that the laws of physics are the same that they were in the past, that they will remain the same in the future and that they are the same at every place in the universe.
No reason to believe it is always possible to do something. As things are going now it is very probable that it will never be possible to do nuclear fusion in a practical way. There is also no guarantee that there even exists high temperature superconductors that would be practical to use, which is another thing that would save the world.
Do you understand the implications that living in space has? It’s expensive as in you’ll have to personally manage tons of things, along with everyone else. Are you an expert in 10 different technical fields? Do you expect that living somewhere where everyone has to be as competent as an astronaut will work out in the long run?
You are another hopeless deluded republican. You got a basic animal mentality that thinks it can always expand and expand and that ANYTHING is possible. You don’t think like someone with a mind who thinks about things, but with the impulse of the basic animal, plant or any life form with the goal to survive and expand.
Now if you can answer just one thing, it would be this: do you think it is possible, feasible for every person in the world to have skycrapers and ferraris like the guy you voted for?
I’m not going to give away the ending, but I assure you that this is going to be funny, and you are not going to like it.

This is incorrect. If this were the case then we should be able to explain what dark matter actually is.
Are you talking about the laws of particle physics or quantum physics? Have you considered string theory?
If all of the laws of the particle physics model were actually discovered humans would know how to find the ‘missing particles’ from the model. The discovery of the higgs boson has given rise to a whole branch of experimentation because there are still so many unknows.
This is the scientific equivalent to:
Hold my beer, and watch this!
Not science, but insanity.
Haha good shout and that kind of supports the point I was making, but isn’t all experimentation just that? An attempt to prove a hypothesis using methods that some consider insane?
If all of the laws were known then there wouldn’t be so many theories that have not yet been proven or refuted even if it takes the scientific equivalent of stabbing in the dark to find an answer.
I once read somewhere that in the the late 19th centurary the US patent office was going to close as they had come to the conclusion that due to how technologically advanced we were no other inventions would ever be made. Not sure where I read it but that has stuck with me for years.
I did not go on from here. Jesus… ![]()
I’d like to see some advancement in the separation of space from time. For interstellar travel we really need to start thinking about those things differently.
Not all, but the majority.
This is very little compared to what is known.
There is no great discovery left to be made, like the maxwell laws, relativity, etc
Noether’s theorem
Not hard to prove, but at the same time it’s basic scientific culture + 1
