Alright so I’m a total beginner when it comes to this… forgive me if I sound silly. I just really need some advice and pointers from a reliable and supporting community. I’m 28 years old and my current body weight is 115lbs. I work out 3-4 days a week and I maintain a healthy diet… except for Sunday’s… Sunday’s I destroy the fridge. I was encouraged by my fiancé to take Anavar. I’ve been taking 5 mg per day since mid Feb to late March. Currently, I’ve been taking 5mg every two days. Im seeing a difference physically and mentally. All positive so far.
I’ve read the average women can take 5mg to 20mg per day depending on what her goal is. I’ve also read that you should be on a 4-6 cycle and stop taking it for 10 weeks. My goal is to gain muscle, hit 120lbs and then lean out. I have a wedding to go to in November and I’m getting married early next year… so I’m trying to look as awesome as possible, lol. Before I take any further steps… I’d like to know:
Should I continue to take Anavar at 5mg/day or stop for the 10 week span?
I’ve read that it boosts your immune system, I’m freaking out because of this whole COVID thing… can I continue to take 5mg everyday or every other day? Is it safe to do so?
Am I doing this all wrong and should I essentially stop for 10 weeks and then start my cycle the right way?
Any guidance and info. would be greatly valued and appreciated.
Anavar is a very mild oral, especially at 5mg/day. Should be no problem running it for 10 weeks. I’ve run it at 20mg/day for 20 weeks and bloodwork was great, granted I weigh twice as much as you.
I don’t understand your concern. If it boosts your immune system shouldn’t you be the opposite of nervous? Studies are inconclusive on this point, and 5mg/day is very low to make a meaningful difference anyway.
Get bloodwork if you’re concerned, but if you feel fine no reason to stop. Markers to test are lipids and liver enzymes AST/ALT. I don’t think they should be that out of whack from just 5mg/day. But if you feel fine you shouldn’t worry.
I find myself to be a bit of an over thinker. I thought hell… maybe I’m doing this wrong.
How long do you think I should continue to take anavar? Im not even sure when I should stop the cycle. Should I keep it at 5mg/day or kick it up to 10mg/day?
It’s completely up to you and your goals. If I were you, I’d keep taking 5mg/day if it’s working for you, and get bloodwork. If your liver enzymes and HDL/LDL are fine, then you can bump it up to 10mg/day. I wouldn’t go much higher than 10mg, I think 20mg/day or higher is too much for a girl and you start risking potential virilization.
Disclaimer: I’m not trying to be offensive with the following.
I don’t believe women should risk AAS, even Anavar, unless you are a competitor. This risk for virilization isn’t worth it. Further most physique goals are attainable without it. As @cguy mentioned you can also take a major hit to your lipid profile even in smaller doses. Supposedly Var isn’t that harsh on your liver so I wouldn’t worry about that too much. If you proceed I would definitely stay on the LOWEST dose mentioned.
If your goal is looking very good for this then you don’t need var. Your stated goals are attainable naturally.
I’m with blshaw on this. The risk for women is not worth it except for if you’re earning a living with your physique.
I’d advise you to read a lot before continuing down this path.
“ Cutaneous modifications, hirsutism, alopecia and reduction of breast size are reversible side effects, while clitoris hypertrophy and deepening of the voice are possibly irreversible side effects of AASs use in women, but no well-documented case reports or studies are available [41].”

Your dose is very low but these things tend to be individual.
Since you already ran a cycle you should have a bit of experience. Just be careful.
Some good advice for women who are going to use steroids is if you don’t want to be more masculine, stop at the very first signs of any of those sides. Don’t wait to see if it goes away, stop as soon as you notice anything.
Okay well let me start off by saying I am not an expert on this subject I have some knowledge but there are tons of guys on here with a lot more. Now with that said I am a life coach and counselor that is my profession and what I went to school for. So my advice is more on the aspect that women or men for that matter should not do this or anything that is risky unless it’s for financial gain or a competition or something of that nature. Which I think is wrong. If you want to do something then you should do it if it will make you happy. Maybe your not gonna make a living from this and maybe it’s is not to win a competition but who’s to say that looking amazing at a wedding or your own wedding is not as important or even more important. For instance my wife did it for our wedding and she was so excited and happy she did and says it was worth the risk for how amazing she said she felt looking the way she did for our wedding and the amazing pictures of her in the wedding dress and at the church and the reception. She has no regret at all doing it and it wasn’t for money or to win but made her extremely happy which is what is the most important thing. What I would say is do the research know the risk and compare the risk to what your goal is which based on this is to look amazing at a wedding and your own wedding and if the risk is worth the reward to you and you know it will make happy I say got for it girl. Get that dream body for your dream wedding.
Ok man, I nearly started menstruating just reading this. I generally agree, but it doesn’t sound like you are aware of the possible consequences and the “you go girl” mentality for potential irreversible changes to her body is not helpful.
Maybe she’ll look good at the wedding but what if her clit is triple the size after it. She probably won’t feel pretty then and will have to deal with the mental and physical fallout. The first and most important aspect is to know the risks and be very careful with these substances in women.
I know you said that at the end to do research etc, but I think you got your priorities in this post twisted.
And generally speaking is a short term gain for long term damage ill advised in life (I know, many exceptions). Especially if the goal is attainable without illegal substances use and potential health and legal consequences. But I’m no life coach.
Well if you nearly menstruated by reading this maybe you should reevaluate what your talking lol j/k man. I hear what your saying and to a certain extent I agree with you. All I am saying is who is anyone to tell someone else what is worth it and what would make them happy or not happy. I am just saying if she does the research and does it the safest way possible not that there really is a safe way but there is a difference between being reckless and doing it as responsible as possible. I am just giving her my opinion and experience that I had with my wife and she did it as reasonably as possible and dose not regret it at all and it made her extremely happy. For example here is a photo on our honeymoon in Cancun almost 10 years ago by the resort photographer. It’s pictures and memories like this that my wife say this is why she has no regrets and she also had no negative effects from it she did it for a goal then got off and has never been on it again. Unlike me who is on TRT.
That’s the point I’m stressing. I think we’re on the same page generally. I’m just saying that it could be that she’s reacting worse than your wife. It’s unlikely though as she’s been using for months. Just not increase the dosage unreasonably or be surprised when there are side effects.
You look great in the pictures!
Appreciate that guys but that was almost 10 years ago this July. She is still pretty lean even after two kids me not so much . Don’t have a six pack any more. It’s more like a 4 pack but no belly so I am gonna say I’m doing okay for almost being 40. This pic is from last summer and yes she has maintained very well after just only doing that one cycle. Just like some of you have stated earlier in the thread that it can be done naturally I believe my wife could have probably done it naturally as well just not in the time line she wanted.
Ok female here to weigh in. Anavar is a great strength producing PED. I used it on and off for powerlifting. It’s not going to give you a ton of size or hardness. If you’re looking for lean hard look then Ostarine is your best bet with the fewest sides. Side with Anavar aren’t terrible. At 10mg for 8 weeks you’re going to get some dark hair weird places. Your clit may swell some but will go back to normal size after about a month of coming off. Overall the sides on anavar for women are less than with Winni and easier on your liver.
