Amputee Healings?

What I really think we need is another religious thread where believers can try to speculate why God does what he does, and atheists can ridicule the idea that God exists. More of these threads are needed because we never know how they’re going to end. And that’s because THEY NEVER END they just keep going and going, one after the other endlessly.

Holy shit we agree on something.

God works in ways that seem mysterious to us, yet are always for the greater good. Why cant people understand this?

I know of one story in Mormon history where a person whose hip was crushed had some sinew grow and was able to function- let me look for it.

Plus, remember when Jesus restored the ear to the roman soldier? Hah! You have to believe in God now.

It’s “just _______'s plan.” You know, like babies getting raped and kids dying from cancer.

Excuses/reasoning are crutches for people who can’t handle reality.

Come on aren’t you keeping up?

That’s been posted a scazillion times. Now a Christian will post back about how sin entered the world when Adam and Eve fell from grace, thus bringing all of this upon us. Then an atheist will say “you don’t really believe that fairy tale do you?” Then the Christian will say that “it’s not a fairy tale” and that they know God exists. And then the Atheist will will laugh, or perhaps call God a “Sky Wizard”. And at this point more Christians will enter feeling that they have to defend God.

You’ve read this stuff before or you’re new, or been asleep right?

Bring what, amputees? Is there no room for bad luck in this world? And wouldn’t accidents be possible even in paradise? Is amputation a result of sin?

Mortal flesh

And amputees. So it is a trait that belongs to the fallen world, no amputees in paradise?

The risen and glorified bodies of amputees will be whole. All mortal flesh will be destroyed.

Tres bien, molto bene, that’s the right answer

Christian View: There would have been no amputees in a perfect world which was BEFORE the fall of man.

Atheist View: Ha Ha what a bunch of crap! Things happen man and there is no fairy tale created by man which can change this.

Can we stop now?

This is what it sounds like when a true fundamentalist tries to talk about evolution, not to mention criticize it. It sounds pretty silly, doesn’t it?
orion wrote:

Yeah well, the real question is “Why does God love salamander more than us?” anyway.
Yup. At first I didn’t get what the heck you meant but, yup.

Still no answer from the believers.

(PS - I used to be a very strong believer, up until college when I finally woke up.)

I think you’re the one looking silly Einstein. Most atheists do not address evolution when discussing purely religious threads. That is not to say that there have not been evolution threads and religion is brought up. But mostly these threads don’t quite work that way. But you’d actually have to pay attention to understand this.

Keep posting and I’ll try to bring you up to date.

Totally. Like that time he killed a bunch of children. That was glorious.

Next time you’re with a group of children, and their parents, tell them all about this. See how they react.

“My god killed a bunch of kids about your age, once. Its ok, he promised he would.”
