It could be, but the shape of his face is different, much rounder looking. I’m not saying I believe without a doubt that it’s true, but I think it’s possible.

So what are you saying, Russians’ faces get rounder as they age? It certainly doesn’t happen to all eastern Europeans, my mom is Polish and nobody in my family looks like that.

I’m really not sure to be honest. That passage just stood out to me and when I went to Ukraine, I noticed that all the young women were drop dead gorgeous (including toddlers, so very unlikely to be plastic surgery) but the older women had rounder faces, as if their face had “spread “

A shitty diet consisting of a truckload of empty calories (vodka), saturated fat (salo) and starchy carbs (potatoes) without much protein gives middle aged Ukrainian women that characteristc fleshy round face with those puffy red cheeks indicative of a high BP.
Almost all young women and girls do sports so it mitigates their poor diet, at least until they hit their late twenties.

What is UP with Russia’s building codes and food supply that so many people accidentally fall out of windows; are poisoned by their food; not to mention so many having bullets ricochet and accidentally hit them in the back?

Russia is a mixture of the USSR with a smidgen of capitalism and a ton of nationalism. I am no fan of Putin, but it seems to me that most Russians like him, so what can we do about it?
They definitely pose threats in Syria and other places, but we gave up on Syria in 2012. We got rid of ISIS, which Russia was more than happy to allow, but Assad is back and Russia has his back.
The more existential threat is China. They are like Russia just 10 times more insane.
