In your opinion.

True :)
So now the issue becomes, “on who’s opinion do we base the law”?
Common means a consensus , you would have to poll the population, we ar4e talking reality, not some Republican Goat fuck
Ok, so whatever the majority votes for goes?

What kind of dog is in your avitar?
Giant Rat terrier , I do not believe what is common requires a vote , I think we can all agree that shitting on the table is unacceptable behavior, I think we can agree that spitting on others food is unacceptable , and so on . NO vote required

Whatever the majority votes for goes can have the problem of 51% oppressing the other 49% of a society…which is the problem in a true democracy (I can’t think of a gov’t that operates this way in modern times).

I’m trying to get Pitbull to understand that:
a) Obscenity is an opinion and not a fact.
b) We cannot define it nationally by consensus.
c) Therfore, it must be handled at a local or state level allowinf those who don’t like the local standards can vote with their feet. Which cannot happen if it’s handled at a national level.

I think I understand your point exactly, and I do agree that some people want to police the actions of others like in the original video.

IMO anything that is not WIDELY considered obscene , should not be controlled by obscenity laws .

I do think there are many things that 99.9 percent of Americans could agree on.

Red Dog , I think you must feel that I am anti liberty, I am definitely pro liberty, I do not care what people do as long as it not thrust into some else’s face

Back to the original post , the Cops lacked the common sense to be Cops IMO and I hope the majority of people that see it

That is exactly why we cannot make laws based on majority rule. The mojority will oppress the minority. That is exctly why the Fed Gov’t must be held within the constraints of the Constitution, and issues not addressed in the Constitution must be handled at a state or local level.

Feels appropriate.

I vote for the Third Way.
