This weekend, we decided to just hang out and rent some movies. Someone suggested getting some Denzel flicks, so we rented “Courage Under Fire” and “Man On Fire”.
Wow…
Is there any actor, currently in Hollywood, who can play a “tortured Soul” better than Mr. Washington, just with the expression on his face?
For you true Movie Lovers, check out these two particular scenes:
When Denzel (as Lt. Colonal Nathaniel Sealing), sits down with the parents of a kid killed by Friendly Fire and tells them the truth in “Courage Under Fire” and
When as the retired CIA Assassin Creassy, he spends a complete night in his room contemplating suicide in “Man On Fire” (By the way; I think Dakota Fanning was a perfect counter to the tortured Creassy; another great young actress).
Anyway…amazing actor. Check out those Films if you haven’t seen them; or rent them if it’s been a long time.

“Man on Fire” is one of the best films ever made. EVER. [/quote]
I second that. It’s one of the few movies I can watch multiple times or just let play in the background if I’m doing something else. Ironically, the other movie I do that with is “Training Day” which is another film in which Denzel is incredible.
I love Christopher Walken’s character in “Man on Fire” as well.
He was the shit in Virtuiosity and people say that movie sucked. He was great. I don’t think you can find a movie he falters in.
Glory?
Pelican Brief?
Philadelphia?
Crimson Tide?
Quigly Down Under…i think i’m wrong on the name, but Robert Townsend was in it.
Malcom X?
Mo Better Blues?
Richochet?
Training Day?
Man on Fire?
I was just talking about how he’s pretty much my favorite actor of all time.
I’ve never seen a movie that he was in be bad.
Glory is one of my favorites, and his performance in Training Day is legendary to me, so much so that I think I may have subconciously incorporated some of his mannerisms.
