From reading around here ,it seems I was lucky to find any help without going through a zillion different doctors first.
Update time. 2 shots in so far. Energy and libido are up, have noticed some fat loss around the midsection and look little leaner. Do really start to feel “down” until I am about 2 days away from the next shot. No noticeable side effects so far to speak of. Next shot this Friday.
Ok so went back for a check up. Had my blood drawn the day of injection before injecting. Came back at 143! I voiced my concern for the ups and downs he said "well that’s to be expected."I find that to be unacceptable. He want me to keep with this for 6 more weeks then maybe he will switch to every 10 days. Can I split my current 200mg vials into 2 100mg shots per week to try and keep the rollercoaster effect to a minimin.
Yes.
It may be worth doing the roller coaster method a week or two before your next labs just so he doesn’t think you’re doing better with time.
I can’t grasp how docs are ok with swings like that when there’s an easy and obvious way to prevent it.
He wants the blood draw 7 days after injection. I don’t see the point in that as I still have another 7 days to go. His reasoning seems off to me. He seems to think it’s normal to have these huge swings which is against the entire point in this. Any special I need to do to the vials after the first puncture to keep it from “spoiling”?
If they are multiple injection vial, just keep it room temp. I also like to keep mine out of the light even though it already is in an amber vial.
Forgive my ignorance it’s a small vial with 1ml of 200 in it. It has a rubber like top on it.
Exactly , just smaller and clear glass.
Yeah just keep it room temp or close to it and keep it out of light when your not using it. Dont refrigerate because it can chrystalize from what I understand.
Thanks for the advice. Hopefully it makes the best of a less than ideal situation.
Not the end of the world. Warm it up to body temp and swirl it around and it’s fine.
Just so we are clear because my post might have not been specific enough, I am currently on 200mg every 14 days, I was thinking of splitting it into 100mg every 7 , I don’t think I made that clear enough.
It’s not normal to have the huge swings naturally, in fact a healthy young man doesn’t see more than a 200 ng/dL deviation in a 24 hour period and middle aged men see even less variation as we age.
I personally think the docs are just protecting themselves by not allowing us to keep levels more steady do to fear of strokes and heart attacks. My previous endo (retired) told me to inject 50mg twice weekly, but wrote it as 200mg every 2 weeks because he didn’t want to get in trouble.
Does my proposed plan sound like a better alternative to what I’m currently doing?
Any plan that leads to more frequent injections is more than likely going to lead to a protocol that will show better results. I found I need less T the more frequently I inject and the less frequent I need more T because trough levels are lower on the weekly injections.
Nope, that is not expected. You either need a larger dose, or more frequent dosing. Or both. I know a guy who was in the high 300s seven days after injecting 400mg. Had him go to 100mg q3.5d and he is in the 800s at trough.
I take 200mg once a week and am at 900 total at trough, but i have guys taking 140mg once a week at 1300 trough. We all metabolize differently and while most are not overly sensitive to the fluctuations as some here, some do notice a difference with twice weekly dosing.
I’d split the 200mg into 2x weekly.
Have you ever thought about multiple daily injections?
So 100mg every week correct? I only get 1 vial of 200mg/ml per 2 weeks.
I think the consensus is 50mg twice weekly at the minimum because your trough numbers on every 14 day injections are very low, lower than average and I strongly believe your trough levels will be not ideal even on weekly dosing.
