And she’s mixing fawn and black too which looks terrible. I bought two of the same jacket recently so I could wear it with fawn chinos or navy trousers. It’s a really nice duffle coat by Marcs. The toggles are polished wood. I got a navy one and a fawn one. It looks pear shaped in this photo for some reason but it’s actually very close fitting around the waste and shoulders. Fits me like a bespoke jacket.
And here’s the fawn one:

A shirt tie and blazer with jeans is utterly ridiculous. Surely someone here knows this stuff right? Or has modernity turned you all soft in the head?

Besides the standard white tank-top, does anyone have any suggestions on what pair with some high-quality jeans shorts?
Thanks gents.
A hoodie with the sleeves cut off, of course!

That guy’s clothes fit him well but he doesn’t understand the basic rules. You don’t wear a white t-shirt under a black/navy sweater and fawn coloured trousers don’t go with a black/navy sweater either. When I wear fawn trousers/slacks/chinos I wear a white shirt alone or a sweater of a compatible colour such as mustard or light brown. These rules are actually set in stone and have been for a long time. Others are never wear brown shoes in a navy, grey or black suit. Never wear long sleeves or anything with a collar when you’re wearing shorts. Most of it is really just common sense if you have good taste.
You can absolutely wear brown shoes with a grey suit.
And you’re giving advice after sharing your entirely blue, head to toe get-up, including blue cargo pants and blue toms (wut?), with your purdy Rolex. Funny.

Okay, I’ll just ignore the second part. The attached picture explains it. You can get away with brown shoes and light grey but I wouldn’t do it. This article is actually pretty good:
I can’t really hang around to respond to any more questions. You fellas will just have to find something to do with yourselves till I return. Maybe go workout?

Indeed I am. And a “dude” originally meant a dandy in America. Dandyism began in France and England at the end of the 18th Century. The original French dandies during the Revolution were making a political statement against radical egalitarianism. So they refused to drop their titles, silks and become citizen so and so and refused to dress in the shabby pantaloons of the sans-culottes.

Sorry, man. You’ve lost all credibility with this one. Brown shoes go with every suit except black. Including navy. Including Grey. Including dark grey (maybe not the really dark charcoal grey that looks black).

That book looks great. Thanks, I’m just about to order a copy. It’s really, really rare to see a man nowadays who really knows how to dress. Since The Second World War the only men who know how to dress are the English aristocracy and those who imitate them. Chiefly the New England upper classes in the United States.

Nobody called you a douche on that thread.
I was the first one to say, in the second response, that you probably had poor joint mobility.
One guy did tell you to get over yourself, because you seemed to be rejecting any explanation for your inability to touch your shoulders, or bring your elbows together in front of you, other than the sheer massiveness of your biceps and pectoral muscles.

It’s a matter of personal taste. You’d never see a man wearing brown shoes with a navy suit 40 years ago. You’d only ever wear black shoes with a navy suit. The article says brown shoes with navy is less formal and more “playful” or something. If you’re dressing formal, and a navy suit is formal attire, then you wear black shoes.

The book looks good, but before you shell out for it, have a look at this article. Covers the basics very nicely and concisely.

I have the same problem with my dick in y-fronts. The sheer enormity of the thing cannot be contained within such a garment. That’s why I wear boxer shorts; silk. Keeps the meat and two veg at optimal temperature for maximum tadpole production. Not to mention comfort. I can’t say enough good things about silk. I sleep in silk pyjamas with a single cotton sheet most the year round. It rarely dips below 11 or 12 degrees Celsius at night most the year round. Goose feather quilts are sweet too. You don’t get hot under them when your body temp rises while you sleep and wake up all sweaty in the middle of the night.
