An “Alpha Male” watch is a practical watch and understated. A diamond encrusted Rolex is probably more douchey and nuvo-riche than “Alpha Male.” It just screams “trying too hard.”

For a Rolex, I’d say a Daytona in stainless steel would fit that. Perhaps a Yacht Master or ProHunter, depending on the person.

An IWC Pilot, any of the understated Ulysses Nardins, or a Tag also work.

My billionaire next door neighbor wears a Timex Ironman (but rides in the back of a black suburban with a driver and a bodyguard who both wear Rolexes with diamonds).
Well color me intrigued. Who are we talking about?
I will tell you it is not Donald Trump. He wears gaudy watches with his name one them. Also french cuffs/cuff links (and I am not talking about going to dinner or a formal event – at 8:30 AM) at a and his name (not even just initials) on the cuff.

His daughter, in contrast, generally dresses impeccably and (when I’ve seen her at shul) in conformance with Modern Orthodox Jewish dress code.

Leaving aside all the “Alpha” BS for a second, I wear a
Hamilton 992B 21Jewel Railway Special Pocketwatch
and Chain. Fine timepiece, classy but not gaudy,
and different than most. Also, a nice pair of
Allen Edmonds shoes will last you a lifetime. Probably
the best American made shoe out there.

If you have to tell everyone that you are an Alpha then
you’re probably not.

I don’t know, a pocket watch seems very impractical to me - more of a special snowflake thing to do. You already have a device in your pocket with a clock, unless you don’t carry a phone. And if you carry a pocket watch and not a phone, that’s even more special snowflake.

If i could afford it, i would have this. Classic, simple, and not flashy (aside from being a rolex)

Men with loud jewelry scream douche and poor taste. Same with new bright colored sports cars, you’re douche with money and no taste.

I dont like using my cell phone as a watch. I like the ability to casually check the time on my wrist, without making whoever im engaged with noticing me checking the time.

Agree. I only said compared to the average guy on the street. I was under the impression that this is a community of people who are somewhat above and beyond Jo Blow. Perhaps I’m mistaken.

Agreed. That’s why the guy’s post above about a pocket watch makes little sense to me.

I wear a watch primarily for the purpose you mention. But it’s nothing special and not worth mentioning. I’d rather people notice my traps.

i would wear that rolex as a casual everyday watch, and this would be my “nice” watch

http://we-wood.us/collections/men-s/products/beta-chocolate

Which for me is because that rolex is about function and quality, where the wood watch is about style; and frankly i dont think it would hold up as well for daily use like the rolex.

Above average only in physique. Ever thing else is a wildcard.

I wear a $30 Casio. Damn.

Tell me about it…

I even thought that this being a weightlifting website, would have a bunch of guys that wouldnt be able to touch their left shoulder when th their left hand or their right shoulder with their right hand.

I was accused of being a douche who cant get over himself. :frowning:

Are we talking convertible cargo pants? You know, just in case you need to show off your calves in the toms.

You can’t honestly touch your shoulder with the hand of the same side?
Looking at your avatar, it appears highly unlikely you’re being truthful. You’re not that big at all.

I am presently bedecked in a solid white Polo oxford dress shirt (blue pony) and a Tommy Bahama tie with Polo blue checkered dress slacks (pleated - because I can’t do flat front pants; cuffed - because I am a douche bag) with black wing tips that came from JC Penneys. I have not owned a working watch in years. I am an attorney and this is my standard, work day attire. If I feel adventurous, I may wear a blue shirt. I keep a blue Land Ends blazer in my office and slip it on when I have to go to court. I only suit up for trial weeks. When I get home I will slip into a pair of camo cargo shorts and a t-shirt. May not put shoes on until tomorrow morning.

The average guy on the street does not possess the training
and diet discipline that the average member on here does. But
there are a lot of hard working people out there that might disagree.

The railway pocketwatch has a long history of use by railroad
workers, men who carried railroad ties, steel rails, and swung
sledgehammers all day, everyday. Hardly a snowflake.

You misunderstand the term special snowflake. Moreover, the pocketwatch had nothing to do with toughness or swinging sledgehammers. They were used to regulate train transportation in the 1800’s, so you know, two trains were not on the same track at the same time. The guys carrying the ties most certainly were not wearing pocketwatches in 1850.

I should have seen this coming when I picked this username 13 Years ago.

But you live up to the name. I burn calories when I just read your training log.

About Alpha Male Fashion… I’d like to see more of THIS.

I may, or may not have been binge watching Outlander on Netflix this week.

Threads with manly highlanders in kilts AND Daniel Craig pics > Threads about fat bottomed girls.

SM - About my earlier comment - I just had to tease you a little bit. You had to know it was going to happen.
