Basic very basic animal behavior. This whole Alpha Male shit needs to stop, if you have to run around wearing clothes that label you alpha and beat your chest like a mountain gorilla telling everyone how alpha you are, all that yells is low self esteem and mommy issues.
You’ve missed the point. The clothes don’t make the man but sometimes they reflect his true self. I have good taste and so I dress tastefully etc.
No I got your point, however did you get your subtle boasting and grandstanding or are you to narcissistic to recognize it?

When I meet with VP’s of fortune 250 companies I dont wear my blue jeans and steel toe boots. You dress for your audience. I get that.

You are 100% wrapped up in getting your dick wet and you are pea-cocking to accomplish that, like I said basic animal behavior.
I went without a gf or sex for over two years and I dressed exactly the same. I’ve always dressed like a dandy. Having said that, women like a guy who is well groomed and knows how to dress.
By that you mean how thick your wallet is. So the fancier you dress the more chance you have money, the more chance you can care for her and her dream to paint cats naked on the french riviera.

Basic animal behavior.

Whoa, stand back people, the Alpha Males are going to lock horns!

My “dry streak” was due to breaking my legs, several bones in each foot, several vertebrae in my spine and being in a wheelchair for months then six months intensive physiotherapy to walk again. Good guess though.

Pretty much yeah. Of course I don’t tell them that they’re not getting a cent from me and that I have no intention of being their provider. That kind of thing ruins the mood.

I couldn’t find a current, unlocked thread about watches so I thought I’d start a more general thread on men’s fashion. Okay, I admit it. I’m a full blown dandy. Anyway, I saw this watch and it was love at first sight. Never worn, custom Rolex submariner with 3 carats of flawless natural diamonds and 5 carats of Ceylon sapphires. I love to wear blue and white coloured coordinated. Today I’m wearing blue and white Toms slip ons(great for driving in), blue and white Egyptian cotton socks by Calvin Klein, blue Nautica cargo pants, blue silk boxer shorts, a blue Ralph Lauren polo shirt with white logo and a pair of blue Rayban sunglasses. And the Rolex.
My in-laws gave me a Baume Mercier Capeland watch as a wedding present. I want to say it cost them $2,000, maybe $2,500? While I appreciate the gift, 360 days out of the year I wear my banged up and scratched Suunto Vector. I also wear either chucks or boots, Levis, and plain t-shirts (usually from Polo). I used to buy and wear expensive clothes but I’d always feel either tooo constricted or that I couldn’t get down and dirty in them, and that wasn’t fun. And now, I’m like “spend $100+ on a shirt or spend that on an activity”. My wife tells me I dress nice. She likes my look. I do have style but it’s more classic and honest, IMO, than the overly intentional “hey, don’t I look like a boss” look. I’ve seen way too many scrubs wearing knitted ties, slim fitted suits, and bright socks with stitched-out shoes to think I need to spend a fortune to look cool for the sake of looking cool.

Your look probably works for you, and your personality. My cousin was wearing something similiar the other day, and it suited him. But it wouldn’t look right on me.

You say “basic animal behavior” like it’s a bad thing.

Every animal on this planet has two prime behavioral directives imprinted it its DNA: eat and reproduce.

I know you like to eat, and I know for a fact that you like to reproduce. You are an exemplar of successful basic animal behavior. A peacock has to have perfect plumage to attract a mate. Confronted with a multitude of suitors, the female will reject the ones with less full, symmetrical, and vibrant tailfeathers. The feathers are an indicator, if you will, of health and wealth, which signify good genetic fitness.

Humans are a more complex animal, but our females look for the same things: health, wealth, and superior genes. Sure, intelligence, personality, sense of humor, all that’s important, but a woman wants to be provided for, she wants good looking babies, and she wants high status. Wealth is signifier of status, and fine clothes (and especially fine shoes!) are important signifiers of wealth, therefore looking good in clothes (even more than looking good out of them) is an important attribute in attracting a mate.
I agree and the comment was not meant to be derogatory but more inflammatory in nature to cause this discussion.

Because humans are more complex is the rub. You can dress to the hilt, be a CEO and look like Bradley Cooper. But if you are shallow, self centered and narcissistic, keeping the mate will be an issue. Then you will be on the rotation of always getting with your future X-Wife.

It has been stated by SM that he is looking more for a higher class mate. But in the middle of a lonely night would not say no to a young 20 year old retail employee sucking his cock in the parking lot. Because he is a guy and hell nothing wrong with that.

But I guess my question is the higher up you dress are you getting a better quality women? Or just a higher maintenance 20 year old retail employee?

That is a lot of money to waste on clothes. You could invest it and get richer. Or invest in yourself.

An “Alpha Male” watch is a practical watch and understated. A diamond encrusted Rolex is probably more douchey and nuvo-riche than “Alpha Male.” It just screams “trying too hard.”

For a Rolex, I’d say a Daytona in stainless steel would fit that. Perhaps a Yacht Master or ProHunter, depending on the person.

An IWC Pilot, any of the understated Ulysses Nardins, or a Tag also work.

My billionaire next door neighbor wears a Timex Ironman (but rides in the back of a black suburban with a driver and a bodyguard who both wear Rolexes with diamonds).

The suited up guy with the expensive watch and tailored shirt generally attracts women who are in the 26-27+ age range.

If you’re aiming for the 18-25 crowd, a more youthful style would serve you better. A fitted T, jeans, decent casual shoes, related accessories etc

.

These threads lately… I can’t wait until I hit my thirties and post about fashion and McDonalds employees.

Or one of these.

Alphas wear Omegas.

An Alpha certainly doesn’t refer to themselves as such; other do that for them.

Alpha’s don’t care what time it is.

@sexmachine, I read that thread and wanted to comment. how did it work out?

A while back, I dated a girl in a similair situation. She was about 8 years younger and working at a Dunkin Doughnuts (she made my morning coffee). I remember whenever taking her out to eat, without fail, this chick would ALWAYS order chicken fingers and soda. Seafood, Tapas, or Steakhouse, she didn’t care, she wanted her chicken fingers and coke. The best time I had with her was at a concert, or when I brought her to the beach. We were WAY off. It was fun, but it got old fast with all of our differences. I guess it’s a lot like my cougar encounter years later. Hope you went for it and had some fun.

When not at work I wear a tee shirt and old comfy jeans or shorts, idngf.

So just to clarify. You think slip ons and cargo pants says well dressed?

I’m not going to debate how well the self confidence works for you or all the alpha chat but if I went out with slip ons and cargo pants, friends and family would think I was having a breakdown.
