Almost Got Shot At Gym...

You’re right its not inappropriate it’s fucking stupid.

If someone threatens to kill you then you have two choices:

  1. walk away
  2. kill him first

There is no “third choice” which is bitchslap him and publicly humiliate him, and then HOPE he doesn’t shoot you in the back. that is the dumbest thing you could possibly do. This guy already proved he can’t take a joke, so hitting him in public so he backs down is going to make him stop? Hell no.

These two morons are LUCKY they are alive. And if they died, sure it would be the “banger” that’s morally wrong, but they could have ended it long before by swallowing their pride and apologizing, letting the “banger” feel like he “won”.

Sure they kept their manly pride and almost died for it.

You don’t want to get shot, then don’t start shit with someone that looks unstable, or just don’t start shit in general. And if someone starts talking about killing you then wise up and start taking it seriously. Your life depends on it. People will pull guns and knives over anything and not even care about taking a human life, it’s not a game.

My whole point is that bringing a gun into the situation takes this to a level it never should have been taken to and if someone died (over words btw), blame falls solely on the guy who brought a gun into it.[/quote]

100% agree with you.

BIG Boss, I also agree with you that everyone should be held accountable for what they do. White guys and black guys. And in my first post I would have no problem being held accountable for beating the shit out of someone that threatened to take my life.

Less inappropriate?? If that’s your whole point, you fail to see the bigger issue. It should have never gotten to the point of “running to get boxing gloves.” And if they were truly concerned about being VERBALLY THREATENED with gun violence, they should of called the cops. But no,it didn’t stop there. What if Spartan X’s buddy bludgeoned the guy with a dumbbell and killed him? The whole point is that they are all stupid…and EQUALLY responsible.

funny part is that hes a grown ass man at 33…drop the childish thug/gangsta thing…seriously people dont know how to take jokes…and its always the minorities to try an over do it…no wonder they get the reputation stupid ignorant fucks ruining it for everyone

do you like fishsticks?

My big problem is that the guy had a gun and no problem waving it around in public. He needs to be found and questioned. Period. THey are all responsible never said they werent. But if this guy felt the need to wave his gun around because some kids called him gangster and threw him around…then what other reasons does he see fit to do the same thing.

I need some clarification. Was this a guy who you saw regularly at the gym, who you conversed with on occasion, and even busted balls with before? Or are you saying your buddy is the one you lift with and bust balls with. Is the black dude just some random guy? Please clarify, because this makes a pretty big difference though no matter what, you acted like an idiot by being a toughguy and not diffusing the situation. If he took your humor the wrong way and got bent out of shap, guess what, it’s your responsibility to make it right. Apologise and tell him sincerely that you really didn’t mean offense and you were only trying to get a laugh out of him. Apologised by telling him to lighten up and get a sense of humor basically, which you can do to a kid you grew up with, not a guy at the gym.

Now after a sincere apology if the guy still would not let it go, and was continuing to talk more shit, you MAY be justified in saying something to him again, like “Hey buddy I already apologised, It won’t happen again can we please just drop it now” you know give him the chance to bury the hatchet, but also put him on the spot that if he is not willing to let it go, then HE is making it the problem, and now you have the right to react.

So by being a toughguy instead of a rational human being, you got you and your boy into some shit you couldn’t handle, and you got kicked out of your damn gym in the process. I would say go over that story in your head several times and see if there isn’t something there you would have done differently.

Then you have no problem spending a considerable amount of time in jail/prison.

I don’t care about guys having an argument that leads to a fist fight.

I care about guys with guns and a short temper because that kills people and I don’t wanna have to worry about that.

If you dropped the ego, you’d probably realize you shouldn’t have the effrontery to insult an individual (especially a stranger) to the extent that he’s willing to threaten you with death… How he responded was obviously uncalled for, but it’s pretty evident that you think it’s alright to go up to someone and insult/berate him under the pretext of “just playin’”. I don’t think that’s right.

Also, dropping the ego would have allowed you to realize that you offended him and that you should have apologized, instead of allowing the sitaution to escalate the way that it did.

I hope you learn something from this experience.

I personally blame the way people are able to interact through technology. People can afford to seem “tough” and “relentless” and not back down from a confrontation, without any threat of danger. You are not living in the internet. There are people out there who are so unstable, they will be willing to try to kill you if you bring them to their breaking point.

My two cents.

I care about guys with short tempers and guns, too.I also care about guys with short tempers who assault people in gyms. Which means they have access to dumbbells and other equipment that can ruin lives and kill people as well.

Maybe the dude got all bitter because he heard your white friend call him “dat nig”. Sounds like you two might want to keep your racial comments to a minimum until you get your own guns.
