The plate pushes seem to kill 2 birds with one stone, not only do you get a conditioning drill going its great for cleaning the wood floors, Im gonna tell my wife to do it…well ask her to do it.
Why do I get the feeling that I’m not working hard enough?
Had to change what i had on tap for today, body needs one more day before i brutalize it some more. Problem is i dont work today and now the urge to train is killing me. How sore do most of you train ? i know its probably good to work through some soreness and i have to get used to pushing threw but i worry about my strength and form if im too sore. Feel free to comment on this.
Kimba Switching things up and actually having a direction, i sure hope to progress. My legs and conditioning need a lot of help. They have come a long way and what a rush to keep it going. Ill try to dazzle you with a few cute outfits ~ wink. You have been a huge role model for me.I was very nervous going to the “real” gym the other day, and thought of you joking about the Kimba show…it made me laugh and get that “screw it” attitude.
kmcnyc looking at the plates and coming up with the right weight to push…that 80# was questionable, but there was no turning back.
Horsepuss when the fire hit my legs, i knew it was very real!
German dude when you were doing the toe touch at the Y I so should have tried i think the problem at home is im touching my toes on floor, if i was “hanging” i think i could do it.Disappointed i underestimated myself. Also do u do a bit of back arch going into it? Im gonna work on it from a hang just keeping my feet up.
Matty with 2 hairy ass dogs i realized Im not the best housekeeper or they need a haircut.
Git haha ya know I ALMOST did planks and was gonna have my son lay plates on my back…almost. Next time.
I try not to arch before i start up, i think that’s what ur asking. The rack i normally use has a bar across the bottom so my lower leg can touch it and come to a complete stop and take the momentum out for the most part. I really think you can do them, yea shoulda tried.
Take today off, stretch, relax, etc. You got 2 more killers coming up! Nothing wrong with 3 hard days in a row and then a day of rest.

during my regular training I let at most 2-3 days go between heavy lifting. But my goals are different than yours. If I have the jitters and still carrying doms I’ll work on form with light squats, do bodyweight stuff or do something really different to shake things up and go outside for a run or a bike ride.
Hey there…
I always hoped you would start a log so that maybe I can steal some tips on you got those abs!! ![]()
p90X huh? I tried that for a few weeks, but got bored and wanted to punch Tony Horton in the face. Some of the stuff was challenging, I’ll admit.

I was too spent to get bored
but remember that was the first bit of “training” I had done in years. The pull ups and pushups alone almost killed me!
Anyway abs…I wasnt really expecting that, i want the legs to pop. You get a better idea in this pic, I really feel like its time for them to build, and i will work hard to bring them up.I have not lost my focus once and am determined and dedicated to make it happen. Not to mention I love this shit!!
Nlmain amazon leg girl…i could watch your DL vid a few more time just for the great butt squeeze
I hear ya on the 2-3 days…
edit: also the way you stay with your pull also charges me up.
I never skip training because of soreness. Injury is another matter but soreness is just a fact of training.
^x2. Sore seems to go away after a few warm up sets.
I am a big big fan of recovery measures
Foam, PVC lx ball mobility junk
epsom salt baths and ice baths
so I try to train when sore and just find things to do
meaning I will change it up or do other work swap upper for lower
like everyone else - its hard to keep to a training schedule with kids
or work or what have you so I am always trying to squeeze in the sessions
your abs are crazy and I like the silver chucks
Ok Yea about what i thought when it comes to soreness…
I really want to get a pair you customize just never make the time…
For whatever reason it was a mind battle when going to train today, well not the training part just the self conscious part. I was getting hung up on if my form was right blah blah. I almost quit cause i could not shake it. I finally just said screw it just do it. I got in a groove and was finishing up and actually got a compliment from one of the trainers.Huh to think I almost left, so glad i didnt. It really is different training with distractions, there was some guy doing stretches against a pole next to me ~~ contortionist stuff, I mean i can handle the dudes curling in the squat rack but that was really “different”.
Push Press ok this is getting moved to upper day ~ no strength
bar 4 sets 5 I ususally have NP with much heavier
Front squat 45/8 55/3x8 65/3x8 70/3x8 was going pretty deep hit the side rails once
had conv deads but wasnt sure about pulling small plates off floor…so didnt do it
Circuit 2 min rest between
3x8
RDL 60/70/70 absolutely love these, love the stretch and the burn
split squat 10s → can def do 15s next time, slow and LOW love to hate these ![]()
back ext → 5,5,5 Ive held a lot more behind my head, but they felt heavy enough
leg curls 40,40,50 last 2 reps were iffy
had a big storm lost electric went home and was pissed i didnt do the deads so I wrestled on my belt and finished it out in the dark.
conv. deads
95/3x5 115/3x3 I need to write this stuff down, i always think Ill remember …
hmmm maybe in the dark vid didnt load…

The abs …they respond well, thank you. ice bath brrr it sounds torturous.
Just to remind myself of the day i almost walked out…
Edit: vid is stubborn.
Good job not being a quitter. It shows internal strength.
And if you do quit I will make fun of you ![]()
last try…and Yes Git you would make fun of me. I will get over the overwhelmed feeling.
Good work on the deadlifts. Clever idea to put the mirror right where we can see you from the other side.
It’s all about tunnel vision in the gym, before I set up a home gym I lifted at the same gym as Todd Jewel and Mark Dugdale plus other huge dudes. It took me awhile to get comfortable squatting only like 250-275 while these guys were right next to me doing upwards od 500-600 lbs.
It’s all about tunnel vision. It’s not how you look at the gym, it’s how you look from the gym.

hmm on mirror, I like to practice my stance and then check it in side view.
Horsepuss thanks, I like the way you put that. I think it jsut surprised me that i was less comfortable the 2nd time in…But you are right once i was able to tune it out I calmed down.
This is just practice for when I change gyms again.Im sure it will be a lot easier!
Up, great that you were able to focus and get through the workout!
I struggled a lot with that when I started lifting 4 years ago.
