All I Want for Christmas

Down with the nanny-police state!

“lumps of coal to all of those who make it their business to watch and control.”

Cool , are you from the valley? Did you see the guy arested for taking a pick ax to the one on the 101

Ha, that is pretty freaking cool. More power to 'em.

At the end is a message that reads:

``Ho Ho Ho! Death to the surveillance state! Free movement for all people!‘’

…i honestly don’t get it. Speed limits are there for a reason, right? We live in a society that needs rules and regulations for it to work. If a drunk driver runs a red light at twice the speed limit and kills your wife and kids, you’d be grateful if a camera caught the fucker’s license plate. But thenagain, i’m merely a domesticated whiny bastard ((-:

HA I seen that, I was wondering when someone would snap and do something like that.
I mean the I-10 has photo radars like every mile.

And I was west of town with cruise control on 70 in a 75 zone and I was still flashed along with everyone around me.

but how many of us will be able to fight that ticket even if its not calibrated right.

and yes speed limits are there for a reason.
but the reason the photo radars are there is to be a money making machine not to protect anyone.

The state of AZ told the feds that there was too many construction accidents and deaths so they needed to put up the cameras to protect the road construction workers.

Truth of it is the state is going bankrupt and this is a way to make money.

there is fixed cameras every 2 miles or so on the I-10 and then mobile vans in between them.

then you have the ones on the 101 that have been there for a couple years, but they just so happen to be mis calibrated.

besides I watched as a truck almost went off the road when in the middle of the night he was flashed by a radar van.
the first thing drivers do when they see that flash is they stomp on the breaks.

When will there be a serious accident caused by one of these cameras?
and the reason why no one expects them is becuase they are not very often set at the correct speed, you can go under the limit and still get flashed by these things.
they are causing more traffic becuase everyone is driving 10-20 mph under the limit and the ones that dont care still are barreling down the road, mostly the ones from cali that dont care about a ticket.

…i know they’re there to generate money. A dutch guy invented the speed camera, and our highways are littered with them!

In many US states, the process is fully automated. The camera snaps a picture that’s fed to a computer which reads the plate and prints out a fine. The system is therefore inherently more abuse-prone than, say Sweden, where a bunch of people review the pictures and make a decision based on that. Obviously, a private company is trying to maximize its profits and cuts on the labor-intensive bits.

Besides, all those cameras can be - and probably already are - used for nefarious purposes.

These santas are being nice really. Other people smudge reactive adhesives on the glass (lens protection) or scratch it.

More cameras, less cops. That’s not going to reduce the amount of drunk or otherwise intoxicated drivers. Not in my country, anyway. I got flashed just a week ago. I knew the camera was there, it was a pure accident on my part. I’m deeply bitter. Besides, many people have gps that shows where the cameras are.

I was flashed on Pima at four in the Am (going Fishing) and I thought the world was coming to an end. I could not see, I did not know what happened, for several seconds. I think they are dangerous for that reason and people standing on their brakes when they see a camera.

Fighting for the right to run a red light and get people killed ! ! !

Cameras do not prevent accidents.

Its a shame that a small minority of morons/scumbuckets cause the respective governments (who are happy to oblige) to become repressive.

Hobbes’ Leviathan is in our future and you WILL be made to surrender your will.

I can understand red light cameras but not speeding cameras that could cause an accident

At 4 in the am all that was miising was the bang and it would be a weapon

I heard talk someplace of some cameras being replaced with Infra-red cameras which dont need a flash.

Now these would be safer than the ones out there now I think.

Also a lot harder to spot and thus destroy.

I still would not like it, but it would be a step in the safest direction
