Good thing you train at home because you probably have Covid.
Not available in Oz?
Haha fortunately my cold is being helpful by avoiding all Covid symptoms, just sneezing blocked nose and sinuses (but I can still smell and found an awesome treatment for blocked nose), eyes running a bit and background headache, but no cough or loss of smell fortunately.
Apparently some colds give partial immunity to COVID
Sort of like cow pox and small pox I guess
This needs sharing please. Probably due my annual cold soon.
Sudafed spray, tablets never work for me but the spray is nigh on miraculous, one squirt up each nostrel (snorted up in not just sprayed), about 10 mins later you go from full on can’t breath me through nose, mouth breather to clear easy nose breathing.
Haha lets hope I’ve got that one then!
That sounds awful, but worth it. I used to swear by Olbas Oil inhalers but they seem to have lost their potency recently.
Had not read this - but it makes sence. Same family of virus.
I’ve never heard of this. I’m not sure we have it. We have limits on how much Sudafed we can buy thanks to the meth chefs.
Yea this isn’t amphetamine related afaik - main ingredient is xylometazoline hydrochloride. Same over here with the sudafed can’t buy anything even close to ephra over the counter, but feel free to drink and smoke as much as you want, those things couldn’t possibly be harmful.
I have a very odd view on drugs. I’m not in favour of drugs abuse. But in a world where drugs are banned because they are dangerous the amount of dangerous stuff people are encouraged to dobis hypocritical at best.
I can list a host of sports that are much more dangerous than drugs. Let alone legal substances that are more dangerous than drugs.
Yea I hold some slightly unusual views on drugs, I am T Total and wouldn’t use drugs or want my loved ones to do so, but I think all of them should be legalised.
We covered this in my public policy class
- What is considered a “hard drug” is somewhat a reflection of social values that change over time
- Much more harm comes from the criminal activity associated with the drugs being illegal than the actual drug/users
- Alcohol is the most harmful drug when considering costs to self and society
- Some illegal drugs have lots of scientific value, but research can’t be conducted because they are illegal
- Demonizing drugs prevents some potentially effective treatments for drug abuse
Tl;dr
Drugs aren’t good, but criminalization costs more than it’s worth
Is sugar factored in here?
I’m kind of in agreement with you guys @carlbm @alex_uk, it makes zero sense for weed to be illegal when booze and cigarettes are legal. Having said that, looking at something like heroin, I’d find it hard to make a case that that should be legal. I think an objective look at the numbers on people who use heroin and their outcomes make it pretty clear that this is not in the same ballpark as nicotine or cocaine.
That’s really interesting reading. Do you have a quick TL:DR on what those figures represent? Ie. Is it as a % of users of those particular drugs?
Sorry dude. Not being evasive working out lol.
It’s from here. But the info is from another study.
That doesn’t really surprise me. Drugs don’t interest me, I also think it’s silly that weed is illegal when alcohol is so freely available.
No worries man.
I had a quick google for the article and found the abstract. Looks like the source is a meta analysis (for want of a better word) of expert opinions. It doesn’t explicitly say that it’s as a percent of users, but that feels implied. I don’t have the time to be subscribing to the Lancet to check the full article right now, but thank you for the reading.
