I’m going to be finished with this program shortly, and the last two weeks are testing - so I’ll test the big 4 over 2 weeks and I’ll deload the 2 movements I’m not testing, which means I should be fairly fresh for BTM!
Until then I’ll keep pushing as prescribed 3 sessions left! Had a fairly good nights sleep bit disturbed but much better than the night before. I’ll make sure I recover hard in the food department today!
Looking at the program it looks hard enough, but adding Brian’s mods will add a new level of fun. Hopefully being a 3 day a week will help and having run dark horse I’m thinking I’ll be more conditioned to training that way - it might work…
My general thinking is I’ll hit the 3 days a week BTM sessions and they’ll have 10 mins of hard conditioning before them anyway, so I’m counting that - I may (read probably won’t) throw in a longer run, with the thought of generally improving my running ability and getting 1.5 miles in 10 mins - that would then make 4 conditioning sessions.
Since I’m going to be not doing the diet and modifying the training slightly to make it Alsruhesian I’m not going to claim to have been faithful to BTM, therefore I can ditch the conditioning!
However as a kind of side note. I’ve started doing daily complexes. Real simply from Dan John’s Southwood piece. There is something magical about getting your pulse up even for 5mins.
Eh…not really hard conditioning. The weighted vest walks and airdyne fall under Jim’s “easy conditioning” definition, and the prowler isn’t meant to kill you. It should all be restorative.
Where it’s HARD is that you’re doing it after getting beaten to hell int he training. But it makes things better to do it vs NOT doing it.
True, I did read it it in full and have done a couple of times previously, but I suppose I didn’t bother to retain the bits that I wasn’t going to adhere to - then I can just moan that BTM doesn’t work!
Yea I’ll re-read (and maybe add a bit of Jim’s suggested conditioning in, no promises though!), thanks Pwn keeping me on track!
Yes I can see that not being so pleasant. I mean - threesomes are “meant” to be sweaty. But not like that.
All I’ve done is the “Southwood” complex from the Dan John Article.
8 cleans, 8 front squats, 8 press’s
6 of each
4 of each.
All with 50kg / 110lb. So not earth shattering. But its enough to wake you up. no where near that level of intensity.
