Alright mate, you win. We are both dumber for this conversation.

Don’t talk about that bastard, he is dead to me. Unless he comes back, in which case he is completely forgiven.

Though he may be gone (from the forum), his spirit is alive in banter such as you displayed. Creating laughter, anger and strange feelings of arousal wherever he emerges.

@dagill2 yeah but come back though

T&T w5 d3

Ohp- 40, 50, 60kg X some 67.5kg X 5, 5, 4, 4
2 mins rest, doubtful extra rest would have got me the reps, but very happy with that, I’d guess that’s a volume PR, rep 4 of the final set rpe 10, probably only a rps 7 thought, got me an exertion headache though.

Lat raises: 12.5kg X 10 X 4 set
90 secs rest

Arnold press: 20g X 10, 10, 9
45 secs rest

Pain in my right shoulder on the second set, worse on the third, will probably switch this out next week.

Dips: bw, 10, 15kg X 5, 20kg X 10 X 3 sets
90 secs rest

This makes me realise how much I’ve been sandbagging my training, actually annoyed at myself here, how much have I stalled out and made crappy progress because I’m tapping out early - how do I ensure that my brain and it’s self-preserving lies doesn’t get the better of me?

Cable rope overhead ext: 40kg X 12 X 3 sets
90 sec rest
S/s
Dec crunches: 10 X 3 sets

Cable pushdown: 40kg X 12 X 2 sets, X 25 final set.
45 secs rest
+1 s/s Dec crunches X 10

Splayed the ropes at the bottom of each rep on sets 1-3, then final set carried on from 12 just going straight up and down, did more because I knew I could push harder.

Happy with the session overall, very happy with ohp and got a good pump, but more than that it felt significant - learning more about myself, between my back day and the easy deads that I doubled my prescribed reps on, in the final set, and the dips today which I maintained reps on despite doubling the weight, I am clearly not pushing hard enough. Not in every area, my legs are still hurting 4 days after leg day but even there my brain was trying to trick me so there are definitely areas where I need to recognise my subconscious limiter and push harder.

Yea @dagill2 needs to get back in here, even if it’s just to confirm that I now have a better OHP than him! Maybe if we just keep tagging him he’ll log in just to tell us to stop spamming his inbox with notifications!

Why so down? This is really good. I mean, I can do way more, but that’s an unfair comparison.

Joking. What’s the problem? Anyone doing weighted dips is ahead of the curve.

Nothing wrong with the performance, just makes me realise that I literally doubled the weight and kept the reps the same so I’ve been short-changing myself.

So what you are saying is that you discovered you were being a pussy. Mate…I could have told you that, saved you the stress.

Or maybe you spent a few weeks training Exactly hard enough to make gains. And then today, after weeks of good work, you were stronger.

Like you trained so awesome that you doubled your working weights over the course of the “block.”

And because you’re now stronger, you need more weight to get to the same level of Overload.

Or what this guy said!

That’s kind of you to say and it’ll be true in certain areas - I don’t believe my ohp would have been at this level 5 weeks ago, neither would my bench (both have hit volume PRs), but with the dips and deads I think I’ve just not pushed hard enough, and there will be other exercises that are the same, just a case of figuring out…

Which exercises this is true of.

Conveniently for me, you are a pussy at every exercise for which I am superior to you. Sucks how that works, but those are the rules.

Unfortunately true, but since you’ve decided to become a jumping fairy and drop real lifting I’m sure I’ll overtake you soon enough!

What can I say, I was gettng bored of pressing so much weight.

Coming from there I too had this thought that UK BB’s were superior. Funny thing is after 18 years down under I realised they are actually pretty average. Just as good or better elsewhere. Heinz are too mushy and way too much sugar for my liking. Maybe the cans just don’t travel well, like
Guinness.

Blooming turncoats, you’ve just been gone so long you’ve lost your refined bean tasting palate, I shall have to write to the king and have him revoke your citizenship.
