"Gore, who has raised awareness with his book and Oscar-winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth,” and Canadian Inuit activist Sheila Watt-Cloutier, who has shed light on how global warming affects Arctic peoples, were nominated to share the prize by two Norwegian parliamentarians.

“I think they are likely winners this year,” said Stein Toennesson, director of Oslo’s International Peace Research Institute (PRIO) and a long-time Nobel Peace Prize watcher."

Does anyone else think this is a little strange? I don’t really feel like Al Gore did that much to deserve an award. Obviously he brought a lot of attention to global warming with his movie, but it seems like there are people out working harder and doing more important things. One example would be the company who made those cheap computers to provide computers to developing nations.

Regardless of your belief on the issue it is ridiculous to give it to Al Gore for taking part in a movie making venture.

Of course Arafat got one so they are kind of watered down.

AL GORE FOR PRESIDENT!!!

Of Another Country.

Amen!
