Darkhorse Wave 2 - Week 4 Day 4

work up to 1RM Wide-stance Box Squat (just below parallel)

Squat: 5x145, 3x235, 2x285, 1x325, 1x355, 1x375, 1x385
Ab wheel rollouts: 5x each set
Trap bar farmers carries (60ft): 2 sets w/245lbs, 2 sets w/335lbs, 3 sets w/385lbs
2 mins rest between sets

3 rounds
Wide-stance Box squat (just below parallel): 5x 305lbs
Ab wheel rollout: x5
Trap bar farmers carries (60ft): w/335lbs
2 mins rest between sets

8 mins EMOM:
3x Deadlifts w/225lbs + doubled blue Rogue bands

8 mins EMOM:
5x Bulgarian split squats w/75lb DB (each side)

thanks, it’s definitely fun . . well not so much fun when I’m approaching the third volume set on a lower day, if you know what I mean . . but overall fun

glute and hamstring DOMS today like I haven’t had in awhile

Db shoulder press: 5x30s, 5x45s, 5x60s, 5x75s, 5x90s, 5x100s
Pull-ups (slightly wider than shoulder width): 5xBW, 5xBW+20lbs, 5xBW+35lbs, 5xBW+45lbs, 5xBW+55lbs, 5xBW+60lbs
Hanging windshield wipers: x10 each round
2 mins rest between rounds

3 rounds
10x Seated Db press w/80s
8x Pull-ups w/BW+25lbs
10x Landmine twists w/bar+50lbs

8 mins EMOM
3x Bench press w/175lbs + doubled blue bands

3 rounds
20x Dips w/BW+45lbs
15x Lateral raises w/30s
15x Rear delt flyes w/15s

felt like a monster today, awesome session

the rest of the day consists of checking on our deer stand up on the ridge, mowing the weeds down in the horse pasture and running the boy through some defensive drills before his football game tomorrow

@T3hPwnisher picked up a bunch of choice grade beef short ribs today that were marked down 50% because the sell by date is tomorrow . . what’s your favorite way to cook them?

I know what you mean all too well, I’m really hoping to get way less busy (how are you finding the length of each session?) at some point in the not too distant future and give this another run, I’m blaming you for making me want to do it again!

Single arm farmers carry (75ft): 1x115lbs each side, 2x165lbs each side, 4x185lbs each side

5x KB swings w/32kg KB
5x Sumo DL w/355lbs
6x Zercher shrugs w/205lbs

8 mins EMOM
3x SSB squat w/155lbs + single blue bands

3 rounds
10x GHR w/25lb plate
8x Meadows row w/100lbs each side
10x Walking lunges w/40kg KB

feel like I should’ve been able to work up higher on the DLs, the volume sets moved super fast, I feel like I could’ve knocked out 20 reps with that weight . . probably a form issue

BW - 201 . . didn’t eat enough yesterday as we were gone half the day for the boys football

50ft Bear crawl
25 ft Single-arm plank sled row: sled+50lbs each side
2 mins rest between rounds

Chest-supported t-bar row: 8x145lbs
Feet-up bench press: 5x245lbs

8 mins EMOM:
3x Standing strict press w/105lbs + single red bands
3x neutral grip pull-ups

3 rounds:
12x Cable chest flyes (lo to high)
15x Banded tricep pressdowns
15x Rear delt flyes w/20s

awesome session again, everything felt great . . just a little embarrassing how far ahead my upper body lifts are compared to my lower body ones

think my grips a little too narrow for OHP? it feels good but watching it here it looks like I should be a hair wider . . ??

I was playing with thumbless grip with thumb on smooth and thumbless grip thumb away from smooth yesterday. I like neither one of them but the extra compression from thumb on smooth was nice. I know my push press is either pinky on power ring or thumb away from smooth. I’m pretty sure all this changes if my elbows feel terrible or if I’m using sleeves. So you might just need to play around and see

Thumb doesn’t even feel like a real work now that I’ve used it so much in that above

If it feels good I’d keep it the way it is

Your grip is a little wider than what I do. I lose to much speed and power the wider I go, personally.
