Air Force Allowing More Chonk

Article excerpt:

“The Air Force is allowing recruits to have a higher percentage of body fat to ‘broaden the pool’ of Americans they can call to service as it struggles to find new members. Male recruits are now permitted to have up to 26 percent body fat up from 20 percent while females can have 36 percent up from 28 percent.”

What do you think?

Ehh, what do i care - they’re a bunch of pencil pushing non-combatants anyways.

What is it you flybois say? “Fly High”?

Well, maybe “Fly Medium” now. You know because cargo load and all that.

EDIT:
Before any of you tubbies says “wut bout PeeJays tho, hurr hurr” - just know that I don’t give a fuck what you sleep in.

Well the USA is certainly on a trend upward with obesity. Seems like what was once a 20% avg for males is now no longer the norm.

Bad idea

What a word salad of an article headline.

Is it bodyfat percentage or is it BMI?

How in shape do you need to be to fly a drone?
" My drone hit 8 G’s and I didn’t feel a thing."

Yeah, it’s from a Daily Mail article, though most journalists don’t have a clue about this field.

Exactly. Different branches should have different requirements/exceptions allowed especially for certain MOSes.

The Space Force doesn’t need many people who can run fast or do a lot of push-ups - it needs people who are good at math and understand orbital mechanics/payload packages…
