I just had my test results back here are the results:
DHEA Sulphate - 5.940 umo/L Range: 0.44 - 13.40
FSH 2.28 IU/L - Range: 1.50 - 12.40
LH 7.85 IU/L - Range: 1.70 - 8.60
Test 12.9 nmol/L - Range: 7.60 - 31.40
SHBG 29.5 nmol/L - Range 16.00 - 55.00
Free Androgen Index 43.73 - Range: 24.00 - 104.00
It’s to my understanding this is low especially considering I am only 22. I used to live a very unhealthy lifestyle age 14-19 doing drugs, smoking, drinking every weekend and just eating junk. Changed that around 2 years ago but got super shredded dieted for ages ended up feeling shit as had overdieted and have a feeling that aggravated me getting low testosterone.
Im now a healthy weight, not shredded but definitely not overweight.
I train BJJ 3-4 times a week and lift weights 2-3 times but get injured a lot so find it hard to lose weight due to having to live off poverty macros if I am not training. For reference I am 5ft9, 76KG.
Brain fog, Anxiety, Depression, Poor sleep quality are all things I have definitely suffered with but they tend to come in waves and tbh I am pretty hard headed so tend to just get on with things instead of sitting down and analyzing these feelings haha. I certainly have a lower libido than all my friends.
Do not ignore your symptoms. You should probably see an Endocrinologist who will run more labs. Make a list of symptoms. And blood labs you would like in case Dr does not order all you need. Patient input. You need to advocate for yourself.
Endo will probably make sure to check thyroid, adrenal and pituitary functions. Tell then about your past drug use.
Btw after additional labs you will see any other action you need. Simple diet, exercise and better lifestyle can do it sometimes. You are ruling out disease just in case. You will do everything possible to increase your own t since you are young and capable to do so.
Edit- go into article section of this website and read. Alot of good enough.
Here’s some labs
CBC
Metabolic panel
LH
FSH
Prolactin
Thyroid panel
Lipid panel
Acth
Dhea-s
Am cortisol
Ferritin
Dht
Total t
Free t
Estradiol
Your have primary hypogonadism and testicles are responding poorly to LH stimulation. LH is high and testosterone should also be high, this is a testicles failure to respond adequate stimulation.
Infertility is next so freeze some sperm now. Clomid or HCG will not work.
Free Androgen Index is a useless test and is obsolete, your biggest challenge yet will be locating a doctor who is knowledgeable in TRT.
Damn Charlie, settle down bro. You doing ok? 3 posts in a row you jump down his throat. I am all for calling him out for talking bullshit, but the advice he gave sounded legit. He didnt talk shit about any Dr.'s, he didnt tell him to take a pound of iodized salt and temperature anally 5 times a day. He may have jumped the gun about e-diagnosing him but he has that right to voice his opinion. Just because he is 22 doesnt mean he can’t have something wrong with his nuts. And if you do want to jump down his throat or prove what an asshole he is, do it with logic, science, facts. Not just name calling, that only makes you look like the ASSHOLE
Have you read my post? Or other posts. I totally acknowledge young folks may need trt. But must make every effort to determine cause.
And I do suggest testicular ultrasound and brain mris consistently.
I can call someone out that I think is steering a young man in the wrong direction.
If my son was in here taking his advice I would hate that.
There is NO WAY to say the op is primary based on ONE incomplete labs and no testicular ultrasound to rule out tumors. That is very careless and hit my nerve. Sure there’s a chance but that’s not how he wrote it and these young men may only have us to listen to.
And I understand all of what you said. BUT it is only advice. Who is the fool that listens to strangers on the internet about medical advice without vetting it? TBH he didnt suggest any treatment, just what he thought was causing it. He didnt tell him to start injecting EOD at 50mgs. He just suggested what he thought made sense.
So, the kid should take the best parts from all advice. Get more complete blood work, nuts examined, pit MRI, then set a course of action.
And that’s why I get pissed when his “advice” does not come across as advice.
Of course we should all be giving our own advice that will vary. That’s what I do and that’s what I want to hear to when I post something.
Primary is completely wrong. You are primary when your FSH/LH are high and you fail to produce test. Both are in range and neither are abnormally high. FSH is a better indicator of primary and its low. If I’m wrong, please tell me.
This isn’t about age, it’s about what the labs are indicating. That’s what I’m commenting on, I’m not going to be silent and not provide assistance just because he’s 22 year old.
Until I see a second pair of labs showing something else, my advice is sound.
This isn’t about my advice, it’s about charlie’s E2 being out of range on a regular basis.
