Something else I’ve noticed about Black History month that is bugging me is how guys who did really cool stuff that I learned about as a kid (Harriet Tubman, Fredrick Douglass, Nat Turner, ect) who really earned their spot in history, get pushed aside for some black guy who was a doctor or a geologist. I mean, how disrespectful is that? It is disrespectful both to true heroes like the above mentioned who didn’t need a month to make them special and to black Americans in general. I can just see these politically correct racists saying, “Ooooh, you can be a scientist AND be black? Isn’t that cute?” I’m surprised people don’t go over and pat them on the head like a child.
