Advice Wanted: Husband On Cycle, Not Training

Good that you two got to talking. 300mg/week of total androgens is a very sane dose. On “just” doing chin ups. Here’s a quote from Arthur Jones you might find interesting. He made this quote after he sold his Nautilus business for millions of dollars.

Arthur Jones wrote in “My First Half-Century In The Iron Game” (1996): Quote: Apart from a rather limited number of hardcore bodybuilders who are misguided enough to believe that they have a chance to compete against the outright genetic freaks that now dominate bodybuilding competition, just about anybody else in this country can produce nearly all of the potential benefits of proper exercise without spending much if anything in excess of about twenty dollars. You can build both a chinning bar and a pair of parallel dip bars for a total cost of only a few dollars, and those two exercises, chins and dips, if properly performed, will stimulate muscular growth in your upper body and arms that will eventually lead to muscular size and strength that is very close to your potential. Adding full squats, eventually leading up to one-legged full squats, and one-legged calf raises, will do much the same thing for your legs and hips. Using this very simple routine, when you get strong enough to perform about ten repetitions of one-armed chins with each arm, your arms will leave very little to be desired. Or, instead, you can do what many thousands of others are now doing and piss away thousands of dollars and years of largely wasted effort while producing far less results. The choice is yours. One of the best pair of arms that I ever saw on a man belonged to a guy that I knew about fifty years ago in New York, and he never performed any sort of exercise apart from chins and dips, and damned few of them."

That’s great to hear that you can have a conversation about it. I obviously don’t know either of you, but if it were me and my wife, the more we talked, the easier it would be to talk…if that makes sense.

My guess with that amount, if it’s a combination of tren and cyp totaling 300ml, is that he is going the self-prescribed TRT route…but that he needs some guidance with it.

It might be a good idea for the 2 of you to watch the movie Bigger Stronger Faster together. It takes a pretty middle of the road look at “steroids” and presents a clearer picture than you will see other places. It might help you understand where he’s coming from and give you piece of mind with regard to the safety of PROPER AAS use. You can always be an idiot, but you can be an idiot with anything.

The other thing to consider is that going thru a dr will help to ensure that he is doing everything as safe as possible, AND diminishes the legal risk from some of what he’s using. There is another forum that deals specifically with T Replacement, and how he can educate himself before and while he is seeing a Dr about everything.

Education is really the key factor. I’ll say it again, there are a lot of well educated people on this forum that answer questions and help people out. Just keep in mind that while people are here to help, they also call out people that are being morons and endangering themselves…but they are the people that your husband should be paying the most attention to.

this is absurd. He may believe it, but it is absurd.

If 300mg/week is truly all he’s taking, that’s not an excessive amount by any means. It’s significantly more than TRT, given that tren is involved, but in the big scheme of things, it’s not terrible.

If you find the right doctor, he could end up with a prescription of 200-250 mg testosterone per week. It’s not quite at what he’s taking now, but it would put him on the legal end of the spectrum. To my mind, it’s hard to justify the risks of using steroids illegally just to get like 100mg extra per week of gear, rather than be completely above board at the dose TRT would allow for. Just how my value system works, but to each their own. I doubt he would see a tangible difference in physique and how he feels if he goes the legal route, PARTICULARLY since prescription TRT will be guaranteed to be dosed correctly. Black market gear is often underdosed, so he could actually benefit in that regard as well from legal testosterone.

I think your a troll. Go read some research test use has been studied Up to 600mgs a week, with no I’ll effect. if hes using for trt then that’s his business not yours. She should ask him what he is taking . Some guys have 2yra worth of gear at a time.

I think you are ignoring the part where I used the word “abusing.” It is as if I said “drunk driving is dangerous” and you said I was attacking driving in general.

Your response came off as “anti-steroid” because with basically no information, other than the fact that there are AAS in her house, you told the OP that she should be worried…then included second hand information about people becoming violent when taking steroid…I know you said abusing, but what constitutes as abuse would have to be another argument.

Would your advice of “Yes, you should be worried” have been the same if she had found…

alcohol
Tylenol
robitussin
whipped cream
iron supplement
vitamin B3
vitamin B6
creatine

I don’t need an answer, just trying to explain why your response gave the impression it did.
