Advice on Use of Clomid, Lab Work

I am 49, other than occasional migraine i never had any medical problems all my life , not even fever, flue or cough etc
That changed last year when i found i had gallstones , i was not in favor of having GB surgery but frequent pain made it impossible to … i had it in Dec last year

Everything was ok till couple of months ago when i started feeling very low in energy, fatigue, muscle pain and zero libido …
After lots of blood tests, my doctor told me i have low T and started me on 25 mg Clomid ED

I am here to better understand this topic as i dont have much faith in doctors , its not their fault , they have to follow a protocol setup by insurance giants and big pharma

I want to know if my lab work confirms doctors diagnosis and treatment , after 10 days on Clomid i have not felt much better though

Age: 49
Height: 5 9
Wght: 189 lbs, i have gained belly fat in last few months and cant seem to shed it

i am not on any drugs , i take percocet for migraine but 30 pills last me 3 months
My body temperature have be low , around 96.4 on average , and i feel little cold sometime

Lh is not low?

Fsh should have been tested

Tsh = 4 is a problem and prolly a huge contributer to your symptoms. Does your family history include thyroid problems? Have you been diagnosed with a thyroid problem?

Seems to be a lot of people with thyroid issues have lower T. Feel around ur neck does it feel swollen? After u rub on it is it painful? Does it feel bigger on one side? Any ear problems? Dry skin? Red dots and dry on the shins? Nails: are the dry and crack easy? Any hot flashes? What’s your body temps?

Read the thyroid basics sticky: tsh is already high don’t take iodine until you know your issues.

Has your doctor mentioned anything about your thyroid?

I don’t understand the use of clomid with lh this high but then again I’m not a clomid expert.

I am on Clomid since I have low T due to the inability to produce enough LH. Clomid targets LH production and your LH seems to be reasonable. This makes me think that the issue is with your testes. Clomid is not going to address that issue.

My first concern was high value of TSH too ,

back in March of 2012 my TSH was 2.0
in Nove 2012 my TSH was 3.5

Current value is 4.0 , so it has been going up steadily

My thyroid is bigger on one side but i have no pain or bums etc , so my doctor send me for sonogram of my thyroid , sonogram did not find any issues with it , with values of free T4 and T3 and clean sonogram Doctor told me that he would have hard time blaming it on thyroid but yes he did have his doubts about it … i do have lower body temp but no hot flashes or dry skin or ear or nail issues

I dont think doctor is too sure about Clomid treatment but looking at these labs , may be, he is not sure which way to proceed ;(

Fsh should always be tested…

If thyroid is enlarged on one side a ultrasound should say something.

Need labswhile on clomid… This is a good diagnostic tool…

Sounds like a case of primary and maybe do a semen analysis after you’re off clomid for a while and see if your balls are working at all.

Make sure you taper off clomid, check everything again while on it. If E2 is higher then before land on an aromatase inhibitor like anastrozole/arimidex or aromasin.
