I’m 52 and I started TRT about 3 months ago. I inject once a week. They started me at .5mg. I feel slightly less depressed but I’m really emotional. Get teary eyed over ridiculous things and I’m concerned I’m starting to get a little bigger man boobs. Not ideal. I got blood work 3 days after my last injection. My total T started at 265. Here’s the results:
They are increasing my dosage to .75 mg/week and prescribing .5 mg Anastrozole Fi/week. Does this sound reasonable? Should I inject more frequently and hold off on the Anastrozole? I’m really hoping to just feel better. I’m so tired of having no motivation and being depressed.
First you’re not communicating properly. Your injection is a volume of liquid in ml not mg. Your dose concentration determines the mg. So clarify are you taking .5ml at 200mg/ml? Please post lab ranges. Your labs are not comprehensive enough to make decisions anyway. DO NOT increase your dose AND add anastrozole at the same time. That’s very unintelligent for a doctor to advise. One adjustment as a time.
Personally, I wouldn’t increase the dose yet. And you’re just getting into kinda stable territory at 3 months but expect some ups and downs yet.
Don’t assume too much and again, you may want to hold off on adding more T or other compounds. Your estrogen isn’t ridiculous but may be higher than you ate used to which leads me to…
What’s your bodyfat percentage? You prone to gyno pre-TRT?
Sorry, my dosage was 100mg and they are raising it to 150mg. I don’t know why I wrote the volume. Right now , my BMI is 29.6 so I know I need to lose about 30 lbs. I have a little bit of a man boob situation, but it in the past, it’s gone away with weight loss. I started TRT a few weeks after my shoulder surgery. I gained about 15lbs after that sitting around eating garbage. I got up to 210 and I’m 5’8. I’ve been hitting the gym pretty hard the last few weeks and cut back on all the junk I was eating. I’m down to 195lbs. My goal is 165-170.
I’ve been on 100 mg weekly (split into two injections weekly) for almost a year. That has been my sweet spot.
I started at 120 mg but it was too much for my body to be TRT.
My main issue was: too much bodyfat. I’m much leaner and more stable. Now.
If you’re active loosing weight and new to TRT…yeah, you’re going to have some emotional roller-coaster. I would venture to say that’s somewhat normal.
I’d suggest staying the course but there are much more experienced members who may tell you otherwise.
Why? Your T value is normal. And your estradiol isn’t high either. What’s your body composition like? Your “man boobs” might be from just carrying too much fat.
You could
Likely what you should do.
Won’t fix a thing, if there even is a thing to take care of.
