I was listening to a podcast on the way in to work this AM. They were talking movies like most movie nerds do, and it’s totally cool. Alien and Aliens to be exact.
These guys got really deep into the story line. I mean deep. Enough to make me want to see at least those two films again.
Then I thought back to when I was what 12-13 years old when I first saw these films and really got into watching movies as a lifelong hobby…
I was in it for the nudity, or potential thereof.
I remember Aliens especially, as the story began hoping beyond hope that the badass Latina chick would somehow get naked. Like maybe a face sucker would put a baby in her and they’d have to cut off her shirt in some sort of rescue attempt.
I used to look at VHS jackets at the rental store, assessing the characters for possibility of boobage, then begging my older brother to rent them for me. Did “Band of the Hand” have potential? What about “Up the Creek?” They had to be more obscure because my Folks would have shit if we brought home “Porky’s” or “Caddyshack…”
Even “Revenge of the Nerds” had to be a copy of a copy labeled “fishin shows” and watched not for the story line, but fast forwarded to the parts with boobs.
Nowadays there’s sites like Mr. Skin as well as easily downloadable stuff, quick references and clips to all the naked stuff you’d ever want to see.
Anyway, I’m not kicking myself for strictly looking for naked chicks in all the movies I watched in adolescence, but it probably would have suited me better to have paid attention.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who trended toward the clothes-less aspects of films rather than story line, just hoping to see if I’m not alone.
i used to have a tv in my room when i was 12-15, late night channel 5 (UK) showed violent/horror films with a high percentage of skin when i was growing up. i got the impression that ‘director of photography’ meant there was going to be nudity in the film!

When I was 12, my Nana gave me a Reader’s Digest Condensed Version of a romance novel. Didn’t think it was that bad, the sex was vague, big deal. Well, when I got the real version, I remember reading the word “fuck” and thinking, “OMG! My Nana said I could read this?!?!?” I’ve been hooked ever since, but now I read the first sex scene and skip all the rest. Then my mom took me to see Miss Saigon my freshman year of high school and I couldn’t believe she was taking me to a show with songs with lyrics containing “chickenshit” in them.
Not much to add other than I was in an airport in Florida in '04 and Leon from band of the Hand [and Above the Rim!] was checking his bags. I yelled “THOMAS SHEPHARD!!!” And he turned around and chickled. Awesome. Also, I think every straight male kid tried to watch as much shitty tv as possible to catch so boob. Did anyone else stand next to their cable box and tap ‘0’ as fast as possible to get super pixelated footage of pay-per-view porn while they rubbed one out? I was all about that.
I remember when I was a kid and you could catch softcore on HBO if it was early/late enough. Of course it all seemed hardcore to a 9 year old!!
One year my sister and I woke up ridiculously early Christmas morning. After badgering my parents for an hour they let us out of bed but said we couldn’t open presents so we watched TV. This was my first introduction to porn. Thanks Santa!!
I also got way into cheesy romance novels in Jr. High. To put it into perspective, Danielle Steele was too highbrow for me!! The sad thing is that it took me years to understand exactly why I enjoyed reading them so much and what that warm feeling was. It sucks growing up Catholic. Thank God I made up for lost time!
It was all about the censored (I wish they weren’t) girls gone wild commercials, they came on every sunday at 10 on this channel and I cannot tell you how cash it was!!!

Hahaha… dry humping!! Premium movie channels still do that including HBO. I sometimes check to see if anything is on, and you’ll see Co-ed Confidential between the channels playing The Happening and Bride Wars( yea, this is the actual schedule for tonight on comcast).

lol. I remember that.
My dad had a stack of porn mags that he didn’t hide very well so I had pretty free access. I’m not sure if that has bent me or not I do remember being traumatized by watching Clockwork Orange when I was about ten or so because my dad was making a copy and left it running unattended.

Haha! I remember a few books with marked pages being passed around.
