My thyroid blood work:
TSH: 1,42 mU/L
Free T4. : 0,78 ng/dl
Free T 3 :. 2,62 Ng/dl
I would like to supplement with 25 Mcg t3. Seems like i have a light hypothyroidism.
I supplement with metformin daily and that seems to e help a lot.

It’s unlikely you are even a little bit hypo with a TSH at 1.42, this is at the median level.
Metformin can cause megaloblastic anemia, due to vitamin B12 deficiency. It’s recommended to check vitamin B12 regularly for anyone taking Metformin. Metformin can also cause weakness as well.
Your symptoms are either from the Metformin and/or your diabetes.
What does your diet look like?
Do you exercise?
Well my T4 is on the lowest side of the range. With 25 Mcg i could bring my TSH closer to 1 hence why a replacement dose. Even tho 25 mcg would be a better replacement dosage.
My diet is 2200 calories. Maintenance.
50/30/20.
What is the range for this?
T 3 : 1,58-3,91
T4 : 0,7- 1,48
TSH : 0,3-4,2
The ratio between my t3 and t4 is more than 2. And i remember reading somewhere that if the ratio is 2 or something one can be hypo…
I personally think that i would feel better when my tsh is near 1. I know that my thyorid will elevate when on TRT.
You are in range for FT3. I used 25 mcg of T3, and all I noticed was that I was a bit warmer. I also didn’t lose weight while using it. After I dropped it, I lost a bunch of weight with a better diet.
I guess I am of the opinion, that you shouldn’t mess with thyroid, unless you really need it.
But my t4 is on the low end of range. Better supplement with t 4?
Serious question. Why do you care about T4? FT3 seems to be the thing that impacts energy / metabolism. You might care about RT3 for evaluations. High RT3 can negate FT3 (which is why I started T3, as T3 will lower T4, and because of that lower RT3).
Actually i don’t care so much for t4. I just wanted to make sure that i don’t have hypothyroidism. On TRT that seems to be a big issue over time as TSH elevates on TRT. Heard from numerous people that they had to supplement t3 after a period on trt
You seem to be searching for a problem that doesn’t exist. Just my two cents. I mean you can manifest any issue you put your mind too… but why?
So is mine and countless others, it doesn’t mean you have a problem. It means you convert the Free T4-> Free T3 efficiently. Everyone has their own optimal range, for T, E2 and thyroid hormones.
My TSH is 0.45, at the bottom of the ranges and Free T4 is also at the bottom. I actually tried NDT and became hyperthyroid after the second dosage.
Aside from looking at serum levels and reference ranges, are there any symptoms leading you to think you may need thyroid supplementation?
