Working to make 585 an any-day-any-time-any-where weight. Think I’m pretty close to it.

Wednesday 10/24
Assorted Upper Body Stuff
In a hotel for one night. Thought about finding a local gym but decided it may be silly to pay 15 bucks when the hotel does have a fitness center and I can afford one day’s break from squats, deadlifts, and strongman stuff. So I did a bunch of sets of 10 curls, shoulder raises, shoulder press machine, chest press machine, all that good stuff. I bet I’ll actually be sore tomorrow just because I don’t do that much upper body work these days, and certainly not much isolation work.

Considering that this day started at 4AM in California and ended with me working out at 9PM in the Burgh after a couple flights, picking up the little bugged from my brother’s house, changing, feeding and putting him to bed before taking the monitor out to the garage so I could hoist a few heavy things, I’ll take this.

Of note: these were all done beltless. The 585 is a lifetime beltless PR, which is kind of cool. I may take 600 beltless eventually just to say that I can do it. In general I am quite happy with the way things are going in training - by next year I may also take a crack at a 650-plus deadlift. I’ve started to think a 700 deadlift may be a realistic goal in the next few years.
