Led off the workout with a bunch of light squats to get warmed up and do a little volume without getting fatigued. Pulled a quality single at 525 and called it a day.

Bikram Yoga (90 Minutes)

Pushed the weight a little more on the daily sessions this week, and having done that, I don’t think it offered much extra benefit. I think the Daily Dose approach will work best if I keep the midweek days light (making them really crisp singles at just 405) with one heavier (500+) day to cap the week, and a squat session on the weekend.

Today I worked from home because we had a contractor coming to the house, so I worked out much earlier than usual since I had no “drive home” at day’s end. With the gift of extra time, I decided to work up with some light squats before doing my Daily Dose Deadlift singles at 405. This went just fine until I sunk deep in the hole with a whopping 255 on my back, heard an audible “pop” and experienced some moderate discomfort (right knee) on the way up.

I decided that would be it for squats, but I would still give the deadlifts a shot as they require much less knee flexion. I made it through with only mild discomfort during the deadlift, so that’s encouraging. We’ll have to see how it feels tomorrow.
