We had a horrendous wind storm a few days ago that knocked out power in most of our area and it still hadn’t been restored as of last night, so we’re staying at my brother’s house for a few days until we get power back at our home. He’s got a few KBs and some other cardio stuff but the heaviest he’s got is a 44, so I just did a light day with some extra volume here. Wife is making a stop back at the house to pick up a few things and check if power is back on, if not she’s going to bring a heavier bell for me to use tomorrow.

Had to improvise our days plans a little (but the good news is we do have power back at our house and will go there tonight). This was done at the gym in the city. Only bummer is that I’ve been trying to keep Friday as my heavy sumo deadlift day, but I hate doing sumo without a deadlift bar (I know, soft stuff here), so I just settled for a couple of easy conventional stance singles and then tacked on some pull-ups. Was honestly really happy how easy the 415 single was, though. Absolutely no struggle at all.

Wanted to do this to make up for missing my usual Friday sumo deadlift. Wife ran a leg of the Pittsburgh marathon relay today & I took the kids in to watch, so our schedule was a little different than a usual Sunday anyway, and I worked out at home in the afternoon. Sumo pulls continue to go really well in the post-surgery-return. Five plates by the end of the summer, baby.

I think a longer-term goal is starting to crystallize for me, but let’s see how this goes in the next few weeks first.

Worked out at my parents’ house today while we visit for the weekend. Mix of kilogram and pound plates, hence the slightly odd increments. No real need to push for heavy weights today, just wanted to get some work in and have fun in the “gym” where I grew up :slight_smile:
