Looking for some experience from people that have been there, and their experience after completing accutane.
I have bad face acne, also on back of my head and even get inflamed cysts on pubic area and on my last round of available antibiotics. Tried everything. Swapping waters, pin frequency, hygiene, E2 levels and skincare routines etc. get bad cystic acne that won’t heal for weeks and bleeds badly down my face whenever BP goes up on big lifts at the gym.
I’m going to see a derm on Tuesday who will very likely offer me accutane. I’m very worried about the sides and protocols involved. It’s private so will have more flexibility over standard NHS regime, but the biggest question is… If I continue on TRT will the acne relapse once I stop?
Would love to hear everyone’s experience.
At this stage I’m happy I’ve exhausted everything, I am privately prescribed trt and have regular bloods Dr monitored who has said either drop to 120-140 a week and lose many of the benefits (on 180) including lower muscle labido and energy, but suspects ill still have acne… Or try accutane.
Feeling desperately miserable about it all really.
Specifically an elimination diet? Like only red meat, salt and water?
I’d avoid accutane as well. In fact, I DID avoid it when it was offered to me. And yeah, my acne went away before I got on TRT because my hormones were shot, and it returned when I got back on and turned on the juice again, but then it went away again when I went on an elimination diet, and has stayed away during that time. It’s why I ask about that.
I am told again and again that E2 isn’t the cause of acne but high androgen and dht levels. The internet broscience says it’s E2 but others say it’s not.
I tried a e3d approach with anastrazole just 0.15mg and crashed. That was a shitty couple of weeks
