Background:
50 yr old
on 100mg test cypionate per week, 250iu hCG EOD and 1.0mg Arimidex per week for last 1.5 years
Last test was done by doc and showed high cholesterol and above norm levels of FT.
Her response was to cut test down by 1/2 and then retest now (.5 yr)
I’m also on Dutasteride (.5mg) which from what I’ve read can show higher T
I’ve read that Arimidex elevates cholesterol and should be stopped for two week before blood work.
What should I do about T, last time I shot 50mg the day before.
Any suggestions?
My other problem is my doc just dropped my insurance so I might have to find another doc soon (San Diego)
Arimidex does not directly affect cholesterol. There can be lipid problems when Arimidex is given to women at 1mg/day to combat estrogen positive breast cancer. Those side effects are from the very low E2 levels as E2=0 is the therapeutic target. When Arimidex/anastrozole is used in males to modulate E2 to the lower 20’s, there are no adverse effects from that. The listed side effects for Arimidex need to be understood in the proper context. Many doctors do lack deductive thinking and critical thought.
When you inject T once a week, there will be super levels during the peaks. Your lab results are very much controlled by lab timing. You should inject twice a week and do labs 1/2 way between injections. Take 1/2mg anastrozole at time of injecting T.
