AAS Past Use 20 Years Ago. TRT Now?

About 20 years ago I did my last cycle. If memory serves it was test cyp, equipose and tren. Had arimidex and clomid as antis. Also was using finasteride to avoid DHT conversion in some vain attempt to keep hair and acne in check. The only gear that was 100% real was the cyp and finasteride. The other stuff was UG. For sure the arimidex was bunk. I think it was called IP from China. Ended up with some mild gyno. Pretty sure the equipose was also garbage. The tren was real. Home brew from cattle pellets applied transdermal. Anyway it was a long cycle and I basically had to come off cold turkey with no real recovery. Felt terrible, anxious and depressed. Still do.

I have had some blood work done on a couple of occasions in the past. I don’t have the numbers but it was low normal. I routinely get the burn/itch in my nipples. Thing is I have never had low libido, even right after that last aborted cycle. I look physically good for my age with pretty good size and pretty good BMI. Probably better than 98% of my peers. I train regularly and I’m very active. If I lift heavy and keep protein high I still make gains even in my mid forties.

Nevertheless I’m certain I’d “qualify” for TRT both symptom and numbers wise, especially with my history. What I did in the past (especially with the finateride and no recovery) has pretty much assured me of that. However I’m not ready for it. I’d like to investigate whether a HCG/nolvadex or some other protocol could possibly produce some benefit.

Any thoughts?

Get your blood work done and go from there. It would be helpful to some of these guys if you could post the past bloods you mentioned and go get some fresh tests. That way you can compare the trend.

A couple of decades from now we will know what kind of long term effects blocking DHT will have on the human body. I wouldn’t be surprised if a large percentage developed alzheimer’s disease as a result of blocking DHT.

Please share any labs.

Thanks. The old blood work is lost to antiquity. I get a physical every year and a few years ago they ran some basic thyroid and T numbers and I may have that.

I will set up an appointment with the local TRT clinic. Hopefully they know what they are doing and run the prosper tests.

Interesting re the DHT and dementia. With my concussion and genetic history that does not sound good at all…

All I can find is this info on past blood work related to hormones

TSH since 2012 in mU/L
1.5, 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.0, 1.51, 1.51, 1.75

Bioavailable Test in 2013
11.7 nmol/L

Edit: all blood drawn in the AM in a fasted state.

All other blood work has been good since 2012 other than low ferritin levels and terrible hemoglobin at around 130g/L making me basically anemic.

These are the tests typically done to get a complete picture of where you are now.
