I want to point out the asymmetrical shape of my abdomen s as a result of an implant that WAS on my right and now there’s only one on my left thank God
I did ninety mins of yoga yesterday, off today back to it tomorrow :))
I am frankly astounded by the challenge that stuff presents. I’d have never thought….
I’m about to take a 35 night trip and won’t have the same access to a gym I’ll walk as much as I can and shouldn’t be hard since we’re not reverting a car … no need since our town has a great metro bus/rail and is very walkable….so I’ll walk!
Maybe I’ll work in bodyweight squats and other stuff like that.
The biggest thing will be watching what goes down the gullet. The goods news there is my wine and I eat so Mike sometimes we split a kids meal at restaurants I used to be very fat…
In my own defense, my upper back ain’t all that bad. If you zooom in on the indentation there you’ll see an appreciable amount of scaring from multiple implant surgeries…
Today I had the “am I going to the gym today” crap until I said screw it I made a commitment and went. The workout was close to
Treadmill x 8 min
Deadlift 135x8
Standing OHP - bar (45) x 10
Barbell curl bar(45) x 10
Shoulder raise 20x10
Triceps v-bar: 80x10, 100x19, 120x6 because some young guy I worked in with was using twice as much as he needed and I didn’t move pins
Leg Extensuon 70x12
That was it. Minimal rest between exercises and sets, rep tempo was 1-2-1.
Nutrition was eggs and 1 slices of bacon +1/2 cup shredded potatoes, glass of l pomegranate lemonade, had two bites of a bacon cheeseburger… That’s it will have protein after a while….BTW. Metabolic Drive vanilla plus orange flavoring for Surge gives a substitute orange creamsicle flavor!
You know, the mental aspect of not having a gym I’m familiar with.
And thanks for these suggestions.
I’m thinking since we’ll be on a warmer coast I should be able to get up early go outside to exercise and bodyweight movements are THE best for that situation., just like bout camp.
But yeh, I’m used to a certain daily routine that includes exercise but an in my home C state a while yet, and I can imagine how being elsewhere will throw that routine straight out a window if I don’t stay on top of things.
I’ll try to do that. One thing I recently found was that our AirBnB is very close to a Rocky Mountain area hiking trail for the city residents. I should be able to tail hike or climb or whatever there when my wife saint cracking the whip rushing me to tie this abd that. Good news there is we’ve seen most everything where we’re going so it’ll be more like starting in a familiar place in our state.
Of course air travel can Jack nutrition up. Will need to remain aware of all this stuff.
Hey, submerging I’m noticing is that when I REALLY stretch out my muscles feel better during recovery. I actually like a tiny bit of soreness and done tightness just means I hit it hard enough to have an impact.
You mention hard sets.
I can only do what I can do, but I will try to crank intensity up a notch. I noticed this week, the 3rd back at it, I’ve felt more like doing higher intensity stuff. I even actually didn’t mind the treadmill once! Funny, a treadmill does almost the same thing as walking outdoors but so totally lacks the scenery and c fresh air I like. Walking in the same spot I simply have never found appealing. I did run on one when I was active duty but dude that was thirty-two years ago. Back then I was at 189lbs vs the current 225, could run miles and miles, and has zero desire to add muscle - just wanted to refine it.
I guess I’d been out of the service around three years before I added any weight at all, then over the following 20 years I got to 387 for a while and am now 6-7 years later at 225. Still. Based on what u see in the mirror imo there’s at least twenty more pounds to go. I’m kinda setting a late goal date of 1/1/24 for the next landmark…. This 225 was one I’ve had for a while…387 to 232 to 285 to 225. The trend is spot on at least :))) Thing there though, I was never predisposed to be obese IMO. As a boy in third grade I was chubby for a minute but that was over and more than corrected by the time I was in fourth grade :)) I’ll never forget this- my parents and nutrition were never friends…. In the evenings after dinner while they played the television I was asked to have a bowl (probably 2 cups) of ice cream. Someone cashed me ‘chubby’ so I proceeded to stop the ice cream til the weight was gone. A tricking Third grade boy putting myself in a diet - go figure.
I’m bad. So bad.
Haven’t been to the gym since Tuesday. There’s a Lot of stuff happening at my place/ We have an entire first floor Insurance claim going on, along with a thirty-five night vacation to the W Coast soon so there’s packing and planning buying event tickets etc. very dang busy is the point.
So I’ll be at the coast Wednesday evening followed by 34 more. At that point, we are touring my ASD sun around Los Angeles. Santa Monica and surrounding areas near our spot. There’s this week down the drain…
The plan —>
Beginning our first Monday or of town, get out before everyone is up since I wake by 4a daily, and get in some push-ups sit-ups maybe squat thrusts verdure any tiring and exploring goes down.
My boy will only be there till Sunday so as I of Monday I’ll have no distractions that interfere. Sure I could see an alarm Ava’s get up at 2A, but would you?? I’ll not.
But I’ll also not get there and become a lazy bum.
There’s a balance to be found…
For now I’ll coast till I get to our place. After we’re there it’ll be chilled out smooth sailing.
