Yeah. There is some very creative stuff happening on this level. I noticed all my over time hours were showing up in the evening, but mysteriously disappeared when I clocked in the next day.
They mysteriously had issues with the time clock machine, computer systems in the foh, office, and cc processing. A butter knife, coffee, and broken wine glass can be repursed. Easily would have cost them 20x more than trying to steal hours. And that’s just for me.
I suspect this was the case in the past, however, in a world where every radio and TV station somehow manages to run their commercials at the same time, collusion is the SOP.
With my work I have to remind people they’re paying for their experiance, not the grocery bill. I don’t ever itemize invoices since they would try to argue.
Yeah, Ive heard that a couple times - “This position only pays x…” .
It always kinda made me laugh.
I guess if somebody allows a company to diminish the value of their experience, then fall for a line like that then they are the person for that “position”.
Seems redundant. If we were to draw a Venn diagram of the gifted engineers / scientists and people on the spectrum, it would be a small circle inside of a larger one.
I’ve taken a job like that purely out of desperation. I just assume they know that based on my resume I’m still going to be job hunting while I work for “what the position pays”.
