A Logic Riddle or Two

Depends on how you look at it. I look at it as digits being added after the first 10 in a pattern of ((10*X)+1), with X being odd numbers in ascending order, so the next X would be 5, making the next set of digits 5110.

Wrong? Are you sure? I see nothing wrong with my answer to #2 and renton’s answer to #1 (except for the fact that you are still surrounded by sharks and you have now burnt your entire food supply, I would have rather gone quickly than starve).

You’re at least going to have to tell us why we we are wrong.

Spot on Carnak. At least that’s what I was looking for - props to SkyzykS for a good alternative.

#2

You don’t need to worry about the guy by himself on the opposite side of the wall. At least 2 hats on the 3 person side are the same color. If the first 2 people have the same color, the person in back will know what color he/and the 4th person will have. If the person in back says nothing, the middle guy knows that his hat is of the opposite color as the guy in front of him giving him the answer of his hat.

Ok - A guy wakes up every week day in his apartment on the 20th floor.

He gets ready for work, leaves the apartment, takes the elevator to the ground floor and goes to work.

In the evening he returns, takes the elevator to the 14th floor and climbs the stairs to the 20th and home.

Why?

I’ve changed my mind. I think I’m gonna come round there and bitch slap you for the hell of it. My brain hurts.

Not exactly a riddle but …

Which 4 digit number when written backwards as another 4 digit number is a multiple of the orginal number?

I’m pretty sure he’s just pulling our leg.

That’s easy…

1001
1111
1221
1331

I could go on for a while.

Any number is a multiple of itself.

For the first one, stand on the beach on the side of the island. The fire will go right by you. That is, unless the trees go all the way to the water.

9(1089)=9801

Nice. That’s what I was looking for.

Or

4(2178) = 8712

How about walking along the shore during low tide?

4(2178)=8712

EDIT: I posted this before your post went through

I was just staring at your avatar for a while…

No guesses for the guy in the elevator yet?

How about …

Two oil drums (or any other liquid) - the first has a 2 inch diameter hole drilled in it’s base, the second has 2 x 1 inch diameter holes.

Assuming both drums started with the same amount of liquid, which would empty fastest and why?

1 2 inch hole

It has a much greater area than 2 1 inch holes
Using pi*r^2, area of two 1 inch holes is about 1.57 inches sq, area of 1 two inch hole is pi, about 3.1415 inches sq, so it should empty twice as fast
