I have switched over to Surge for my post workout shake and I think it is great. Howver I wake up really early first thing in the morning and I only have time for a shake right before my workout. Lately I have been trying this combo:
Metabloic Drive
30 grams powdered rolled oats
3g creatine
2-3 g beta-alanine
mixed in 12 oz water
1 banana
During workout I use Xtend with some dextrose and have liked that combo, but I am not sure about my pre wo drink. It seems to be good, but I am always looking for the best combo. There are never very many pre workout nutrition articles, at least not for workouts first thing in the morning, that I have seen. Anyways, any comments are welcome.

does drinking sugar/fast carbs/electrolytes during a workout really make a difference?[quote]
I have noticed a difference, I have more energy and I recover faster after wards. Also since I am also using BCAA I wait about 20 mins before drinking my post wo Surge. So far I like this setup.

That looks fine. I also have a super Metabolic Drive shake with berries a banana and apple about an hour before my workout and it fuels me just fine.
