I can’t believe there are only 2 episodes left. No way I’m getting around reading the books now.
I can’t believe Ned fell for that trick. It was almost too easy.
If anyone had any doubts about Jason Momoa as Conan, I think it’s safe to say that this episode, and his speech in it, will erase them. I had chills. Khal Drogo is a bad, bad motor scooter.
So in case anyone wants to see Episode Seven ahead of time:

Holy shit…[/quote]
Indeed.
Just today, before watching the episode, I was thinking about reading more about the character and see if he has some redeeming qualities…but oh my…I didn’t expect that. I feel pity for that guy, really…and I’m starting to hate his sister.

Does he have lots of rear view mirrors like in Quadrophenia?

How is it possible that you hate Daenerys? She’s one of my favorite characters.

Really? Lol…the guy was a total douche - prepared to sell his sister’s cunny to any man who wants it to further his own ends. Suprised it took as long as it did to top him off!
I certainly didn’t feel pity for the guy - but I did go “AIYA, FUCK, THAT’S GOTTA STING!!!” =P
And she’s a great character! From this meak, brow-beaten, underdog to a woman of great strength and character. I’ve really enjoyed her slow transformation.
SPOILERS
Even during that final scene she tried to prevent her bro from coming in and getting himself killed.
This show is all kinds of awesome. Best thing on telly since Breaking Bad!

I’m not sure why, but I can’t stand her. It’s very easy to be all commanding and stuff when you are carrying the kid of a super alpha man that commands 40000 riders.
It’s true that Viserys is not the nicest guy around, but he has grown up believing he’s a descent from the dragons, that people of the Seven Kingdoms are awaiting his arrival, etc. but for some reason, I had sympathy for him. Maybe just pity.
Characters I dislike :
-Cersei. She’s just your typical selfish evil noblewoman. I usually don’t like this kind of character. I’d like to see more development on her.
-Joffrey. Little to say.
-Daenerys. As said above.
Characters I like :
-Stark House. Pretty much all of them, especially Arya and Ned.
-Jamie Lannister. Cool character, seems much more human and deep than his sister-lover.
-Jon Snow. Typical good guy that I like.
I will give the books a try. I really want to see more character development and information. Not enough screen time to show things on TV.

I really wish they had done 2 books per season with just a couple of episodes left, I’m already wanting season two.
SPOILERS (Kinda)
I didn’t like Daenerys in the beginning either but seeing how the character transforms from the quiet little girl (I guess is a good way to put where she starts) into where she ends up in the last book is one of the better stories in the series. I’m really wanting to see where they go with her character in later books…and the series.
END SPOILER

I wish they had made each season 15 episodes instead of 10. 10 is not enough and it’s starting to feel a little rushed. Don’t know for sure though since I haven’t read the books.
One of the side characters I’m finding to be interesting to watch is Littlefinger (Petyr Baelish). I didn’t really give him enough credit in the books, but now that I’m watching him on screen I’m looking forward to when he takes a more prominent role in the series.
His incredulous, psuedo-ignorant jabs at Eddard in the throne room this past episode were quite lulzy.
The only problem I’m having while watching this show is that I don’t want to get to into it - only because I don’t trust that it will get the long running time that it deserves. Alot of shows get cancelled these days and it would suck majorly if GOT was cut before it gets too deep into the story.
That or the writers etc. have a bitchfest and screw everything up i.e. Deadwood.

thanks for the link i was looking everywhere for it, episode 7 is the best so far
I’ve not read this thread, so dunno if it’s still concerning the book series of A Game of Thrones.
For any of you who might be interested there is a short story set 100 yrs before the first book…
Its called The Hedge Knight, and is in a compilation called Legends, edited by Robert Silverberg
(I enjoyed the story, but bought the compilation as there was a Terry Pratchett short in it)
just FYI,
cheers

x10
I wasn’t really ever enamored with the character of Littlefinger, looking at him more as a plot mover and a way for GRRM to throw the reader off the scent of what would happen next.
Seeing him brought to life on screen, though, has changed my opinion. The actor is doing an incredible job fleshing him out, and everything he’s done makes more sense to me now from a personal perspective.
SPOILERS
epi 7.
i did not have to see another seen with a guys’ junk out. Let alone bouncing as he stumbles behind the horses. fuck.

If you are posting in this website, I’d say you go to the gym. Do you feel uncomfortable there as well?
I think it’s fair they show both genders nudity. Plus, we got that hot lesbian scene while Littlefinger was talking!

Well, there’s no one showcasing their penis in the gym, so no i dont feel uncomfortable there. How bout your gym?
Sure there’s plenty of naked women. Since I like women, I aint complaining about them! Naked men on the other hand…
fuck it. it’s a great show.

Only old men seem to do it.
Well, we got to think about the other side of the crowd watching the show too…
