A Game of Thrones (Trailer)

I already hate certain characters. I just want to slap them so hard.

Fuckin loving it! ^^

Drogo: I was dissapointed here, he looked to clean cut to me and the Dothraki didn’t seem as savage and raw as I expected. As mentioned above they missed the two initial things that mildly endeared Drogo to Dany 1. The horse she jumped over the fire with “gave her the wind”. 2. Their initial post ceremony sex.

The Hound: Agreed on he doesn’t look as creepy as he should.

Sean Bean: Perfect.

Tyrion: Perfect. However, they missed out on the mild bonding between him and Jon Snow, though that could be remedied later.

Sansa: Hate the bitch, so perfect.

Arya: Good, IMO they failed to show the closeness between her and Jon.

Caitlyn: Meh. Failed to capitalize on the true hateful regard she has for what Jon represents.

The Mountain: I can’t wait to see they choose for him.

Someone above mentioned what people who have not read the book thought. They liked it but they couldn’t follow who was who and which characters had any importance.

Watched second episode last night. My only real complaint is the actress playing Cat, to old and not regal enough for what I see from the book.

spoilers, etc.

Something tells me I will end up reading all the books after this season ends. I just saw episode 2 last night and I either love or hate just about every character.

Ned Stark - He is the character I identify with the most.

Arya Stark - Awesome little tomboy. She is my favorite character. I disagree with you and felt they showed her closeness with Jon very well in that one scene.

King Robert - I like him so far, but I get the feeling that I won’t in the future.

Queen Cersei - Cunt. Killing the diowolf “just because” was fucking awful.

Joffrey - An even worse cunt than his mother. And what the hell is up with his face? What a weird-looking kid. I’m willing to bet that he’s really Jaime’s son. Either way, I hope he dies a horrible death at some point.

Jaime Lannister - Conniving motherfucker and a sick bastard. Dude, THAT’S YOUR SISTER! When I first saw the scene of them fucking I didn’t remember that they were related. Then when I saw it a second time I felt like I needed a shower.

Tyrion Lannister - Love him. I especially loved watching him slap Joffrey over and over.

Jon Snow - Like this guy. He seems really tortured because of who he is.

Cat Stark - She’s a like/hate. I like the way she cares for her kids, but hate the way she treated Jon. The circumstances of his birth are not his fault. She fought off that assassin like a badass though, until the wolf could come and fuck shit up.

Viserys Targaryen - He’s going to get fucking slaughtered and it’s going to be great.

Daenerys Targaryen - I like her attitude towards her situation.

Khal Drogo - Apparently he’s a badass, so I like him.

Sansa Stark - She was in a tough spot in this last episode. She thought lying would be the safe play since her sister’s pet had already run away, but it ended up costing her.

Robb Stark - I liked his reaction to Jon’s departure. You could tell he cares about him but at the same time wants to remain distant out of loyalty to his mother.

Bran Stark - Seemed like a cool little kid til he got tossed out a fucking window.

One thing I wish they would do is give the viewer a better sense of how much time is passing during and between the episodes. Apparently a few months went by during the first one and the only way I knew was the size of the diowolf pups.

So yeah, there is some confusion for me when watching but I will probably watch all of them twice so I should be able to pick up everything the second time.

^^ Dude, considering you haven’t read the books…well fucking done.

Potentially big spoiler/theory:

After reading the books I had the idea that Jon Snow was actually the son of Ned’s sister (cant remember her name atm) and the Targaryan prince Rhaegar and the way they showed it in the TV show last night pretty much confirmed it. You’ll notice that he never calls Jon his son, he always says “he has my blood.” (GRRM did this in the book like 20 times before I noticed it) And the way they talked about Rhaegar and Neds Sister makes me think GRRM must have told the directors so they wouldn’t contradict themselves later on in the series after GRRM reveals it. Jon is gonna ride a dragon
Holy fuck. Good pick up. Makes a lot of sense, especially with Ned’s character.
I was thinking about this since you said it and it makes perfect sense. Ned knew that Robert wanted to kill every Targaryen he could get his hands on, and if he knew that Jon was really a Targaryen he might try to kill him. Ned wants to protect the boy, who is actually his nephew.

Then when I was reading the viewer’s guide on HBO.com it said how his sister died in his arms or something like that, so maybe she died during childbirth?

And the fact that Robert had apparently never even seen Jon’s supposed mother, Wylla, makes it all the more interesting. They were best friends and he never met her?

That is a hell of a burden to take on considering the strain it has put on his family, especially his marriage.

I’m not sure if I like her either. I guess I’ll decide later when she she “snaps out of it” after this episode. For this episode, she wasn’t supposed to look regal, but ragged… and as you said, she looked really old. I can’t wait for the “inn scene”

God that Blonde chick that keeps getting raped by that big dude is so hot. What is her name again?

Wow, well done after 2 eps, I’ve read the books about 5 times, & you about nailed it. Good choice with Arya as favorite character her story arc rocks!

(just fyi. . . .dire wolf. . .these actually existed [wiki it] prehistoric wolves that weighed about 240)

the blonde chick scene, where she is getting doggy-styled by the warlock dude… man, her tits are awesome in that scene.

Now I really must find this show now!!!

SPOILERS SPOILER SPOILERS

Steel/John

I read the first three books back to back on vacation not long ago, and when all the information is connected the theory that Jon is Lyanna’s son, not Ned’s, makes so much sense

Another reason Ned doesn’t want to talk about it: In a way, the deaths of His father and brother were Lyanna’s fault. She runs away with Prince because she doesn’t want to marry Robert, which starts the rebellion in the first place. Check out one of the Bran chapters in “Storm of Swords” …the Reeds tell a story about how Lyanna met Rhaegar. Also, Rhaegar sent the three best knights of the kings-guard, and his best friend, to guard Lyanna Stark. Why would he do that unless she was carrying his child? I think one of the Ned chapters has a flashback about it in the first book.

I think your also dead on about Ned fearing Robert would kill John. Notice how upset Ned gets every time Robert talks about killing Dany? That’s not just on principle. Also, someone else knows the truth of Jon’s birth, because Ned wrote it all down just before…well, you know.

Good point about the Kingsguard, I didn’t put that together. Why would he have any Kingsguard, let alone 3, stay with her if she was just a prisoner of war?

I believe Howland Reed also knows the truth. I believe GRRM mentions somewhere how he helped Ned kill the 3 Kingsguard, so he would have been there as Lyanna was dying. That would also explain how the Reed kids know the story that they told Bran. I remember that chapter now, they kept asking Bran if he’d heard the story, like they knew it was significant and were surprised he hadn’t heard it.

Very nice summary. I agree with everything in your post.

I’ve never read the books. I saw the series teaser and trailer and thought they looked cool. The first episode was pretty blah and confusing to me until that scene of Bran falling.

After seeing episode 2 and 3, I must say I’m loving the series now. I’m getting the books after the season ends.

Advice to Newcomers:

Dont become attached to any character (seriously)

Whatever you believe is happening, you are wrong

Whatever you think will happen, you are more wrong

Whatever you have hope that will happen, sorry, wrong again

Keep a box of tissues, you’re going to need it

Can’t wait for the Golden Crowning!

You’re right! I went through half a box what with all the great ass and booby shots.

HaHa! - Classic Nards

(BTW - awhile ago you had a They Live Gif for your avi, I didn’t know what the film was until that moment. THANK YOU! - it’s a cool movie)

You mean this animated one?

Yup - thats the one

Changed my life it did.

I guess if you hadn’t seen the movie before it would look rather rude…some guy with a mullet walking into a bank and only shooting the people with skin conditions.
