Regardless, of the individuals that showed and G-d bless them for loving this Country as much as they do. Beck and his ilk are nothing more than schills. From one puppet master to another (Bush to Obama). Beck is a known neo-con.

Jones is a bit over the top. But he still pretty spot on. Beck is a hack, 9/12 is a charade, its no better than a code pink rally, a large gathering of mostly half wits not understanding the vetted corporate interests behind their “million man march.”

The fact that MILLIONS of Americans think so and SHOW up to demonstate this thought is not enough for you? Progressives are mostly always Liberals, if you didn’t know that. The Country is actually a mojority, conservative. Check to polling data.

You could probably find a million americans who can’t find their own state on a map. Americans vs progressives? conflict? really? So what, if youre not a conservative now youre no longer and american?
why would you ever trust a poll? they are representative of nothing. Even Gallup is far cry from reasonable and reliable polling.
if this country is so damn conservative, why are the republicans/democrats still in power?
Good thing Ron Paul was defeated.

Although seeing Rand being pop up in this thread makes me a sad panda.

Sure.
Just imagine Guantanamo closed, he wars ended and no TARP.
Cant have that, no Sir.

Is anyone here a sociologist, a political science major, or at least really really smart?
No?
Oh, well then.
Lets save the claims about what exactly in America has awakened for a year or so. A happening of this sort that comes about so quickly will likely dissipate just as fast. A lot of people are losing there minds right know, this situation just needs a little time to chill.

What could a sociologist or poli sci major possibly tell me about events that happened today unless they’ve been studying them and even then they can be wrong. Too many people going to college these days. What’s the value of a degree. What does it mean to be a sociologist?
Good “pundits” are born, not made. Competence recognizes competence. Opinions are like assholes…

sociology would at least get you a firm understanding of statistics and behavioral theory. Whats the value of a degree? If you know what to do with it, around 60k a year. Try a dictionary.

The millions of Americans you speak of are making unbalanced, unfounded and ridiculous claims about our government. Most of them believe everything they see on the news because thats their only source of information. Fox is not a credible source for info in the slightest. Most people don’t know that there are other countries with socialized medicine that have much better health care systems, THAT AREN’T NAZI EMPIRES. America is in large part grossly uninformed and poorly educated.
By the way, you misspelled “majority”.
You are another one of those guys I can’t help liking and who I think means well, but who is also so detached from reality at times it is entirely pointless to address what you say.

Thanks, I’ll take that as a compliment. I’ll also say that at times I “overextend” my thinking to defend a perspective that’s not given adequate representation here. For instance I was defending that Green jobs dude a while ago, except really he was a little loony.
This isn’t one of those times. Fox just isn’t being responsible right now.

You are fucking funny, all those conservatives elected that conservative Barrack Obama :)
I think many people voted for Obama out of disgust for Bush and the Republican Party. McCain didn’t lose his own election, Bush lost it for him. Obama did a great job reminding people of the last 8 yrs of failed Republican policies, and that just painted a huge bulls-eye on McCain.
But as you can see now, with numerous polls backing this up, that Obama is not turning out to be what people had hoped for, even among Dems. No other president has seen such a drastic drop in popularity as quickly as Obama has in the last 26 yrs.

Yea, that’s about it. Sup Rockscar? How have things been?
I have been busy with my job, not only in workload, but teaching myself new skills. I have been studying VBA, wrote a few programs to automate things. Had a daughter. She is 13 months now.
Not to derail the topic…
I might be liberal in my beliefs, but I am not in favor of Obama just because of my party affiliation. Obama has lied up and down, and stood strong while doing it. This is not change, this is more of the same god dam Washington.
What is this preventive detention BS. What about days before a bill is passed for everyone to review. This jackass rushs the stimulus bill through congress (sound famaliar?) because it cant wait, then takes a vacation and says it can wait.
I still think questions the crimes on 911 are different from questioning a birth certificate. Lives were lost, habeas corpus was lost, our basic rights were lost.
How does a president that stands for a smaller government end up increasing the size of the government by 1/3?
Yes, I do see the loss of my rights; habeas corpus, privacy, economy spiraling out of control.
One thing I liked about George was his Bushisms. I really miss his speeches and just plain old pissing me off with his existence.
No, I think both of these jack asses suck. I just think Obama should have a chance to fix some very broken shit before taking to the streets with portraits of him made out to be Hitler. I think some people just don’t like Obama. In fact, I think many on the right despise the man.
Now my boy Kimbo is on the Ultimate fighter.

I minored in Sociology. My wife majored in sociology and graduated from Brown. I can’t say I am smart though, just ask anyone here.

America is greater then any party or person. We need to look out after the Bigger cause and stop waddling in the mud of politics and division as usual. That’s what keeps us weak.
Agreed.

It means you have a degree and or you are a sociologist. That’s about it.
