700lb Man Asking for Help

Get UP, Get out, Do something. Don’t just sit and let life pass you by. Get Up, Get out. Do something. Can’t spend all your time trying to get high…or a pizza.

First off…TWO LARGE PIZZAS AND LITERS OF SODA is one freaking meal. I don’t understand that. Knowing your situation…and continuing to eat like that at every meal indicates not just a mental disorder…but pure dysfunction at life. 2 whole pizzas and liters of soda don’t just slide down easily…especially when you are so fat you can’t even get up to pay the delivery guy.

No one gets like that without enablers. They are just as insane as this.
I see the same three or four guys when I work overnight in the emergency dept. They drink a bottle of mouthwash, get wasted, go to the mens mission and get belligerent with the staff. They in turn call an amulance. All they end up doing is sleeping it off then being discharged. Awhile back one guy was there friday night and saturday night, he left long enough to get plowed again. Fucking mouthwash?, when they piss themselves(inevitable I’ve discovered) it reeks like spearment mixed with urine and horrible body oder. Goodtimes in ER lol.

Free of charge of course. It’s the way is it but I hate to think how much it costs per visit. I could find out but I don’t want to know in a way.

Aww. My irony receptors were quivering at the thought of a small but dedicated band of mouthwash quaffing winos (washos?) with immaculate oral hygiene and a full set of pearly whites reekly wreaking havoc at the ER. Alas, their knashers inevitably went the same way as every other drunkard’s tooth, no doubt keeping good company at the bottom of a drain somewhere.

HG, not everyone is as tough as you. Some people need a softer approach or they just start crying and become mentally paralyzed.
Natural selection then. Let those motherfuckers figure themselves out.
HG is not a tough guy, he is a goober.

As someone that has kinda been in the same boat (~450lbs => 230@10%), lost the weight and kept it off… my advice to people like this is always to get their head sorted primarily whilst focussing on the body.

Losing weight at 700lbs is a piece of cake.

Fixing your head, self attitude, self esteem and life philosophy at 300, 400, 700lbs is fucking hard as hell. For people that haven’t been there you really, honestly have no idea.

The thing to keep in mind is that at 22/23 (where I was at that weight) you really have no idea except what you’re family has delivered to you… I had bad examples of food/activity/mental approach to myself and eating and being overweight as fuck were teh ways I dealt.

In any case just as a guide to anyone that reads this that actually wants to help people in this position - make sure you don’t forget their head. Honestly someone at 300lbs+ can sit at an office chair and eat pretty well and lose weight no worries at all. Changing their head to keep things shifting in the right direction can’t be done that way. Obviously the best thing is to eat well, hit the weights and hit your mind all at the same time but for me the most important part is your head; always.

I’m pretty sure Arnie said something along the lines of our bodies always being tougher than our minds will allow? It’s true (even if he didn’t) so sharpening your mind is always goign to have benefits physically.

So … long rant over. This guy - and people like him - should always get psych councilling by someone that specialises in eating disorders or body dysmorphia stuff whilst smashing the diet and activity.

Always.

Cheers!
