"Celebrity spokespeople aren’t the only ones being paid to lose weight. The mayor of the northwestern Italian town of Varallo is offering its citizens 50 euros ($70) to lose
weight, with a 200 euro ($280)bonus if they keep the weight off for five months. Men must lose 9 pounds and women must lose 7 pounds to be eligible for the stipend.
The European Union estimates that 35 percent of Italians are overweight or obese, a figure that has increased as healthy Mediterranean diets have been replaced with diets high in fat and sugar. Mayor Gianluca Buonanno, who hopes to lose about 13 pounds of his own, says many of the town??s 7,500 citizens have already signed up for the new program."
Money is the only thing that some would convince some people to lose weight. I’d drop 9 lbs for 350 bucks after five months though geeze. Someone could do that in water weight alone and make quick cash ha.
I would just masturbate excessively, shit as much as possible and not drink any water, continue this for 5 months bank the money, still masturbate excessively but return to drinking water and not shit as much as possible. Simple solution to losing and keeping 9 pounds off.

we are in debt. This may be an expense worth spending though as it would increase the health of our population thus making people more productive for longer periods of time and reducing the draw on our medical system.
Or we could do it the traditional way and just tax fat people for being fat. Which would make sense. Pay for your own medicare fatty.

Wait. I solved it. Subsidize farming, which would be payed for by taxes on all items with high fructose corn syrup. That would at least cut back on some calories by making pop and other snacks more expensive. That concept could also be used on other things, like cream, white flour… Problem would be with the WTO.

That is a pretty good idea though they would have to crack down harder on willy nilly spending by farmers. I can’t count how many crew cabs with rims, limo tint and sound systems I see labeled as a farm expense.

And I can’t count how many farmers still drive 1970 F-100’s. For every frivolous farmer, there is a thrifty farmer trying to make ends meet. It comes back to who has the land.
