It’s only 140 lbs. If you’re thinking redwoods see Crippler’s log with 1100+ lbs for reps.
Friday 8/12
2 x 50 pushups. Rest day.
Praying y’all are safe and sound with all the flooding going on.
100 reps is still 100 reps. Also I’m with ChickenLittle, I hope all is well…
Monday 8/15
We remained dry during the flood. No moving water bodies nearby, but there are two ponds about 500 feet behind us with normal water level about 10-12 feet below our house foundation. They quickly became a reservoir approaching our garage Friday afternoon. That water topped Saturday noon about 4 feet below level of our foundation. We stayed home Sunday and watched the high water reporting on tv. On way to gym this morning I saw a nearby version of the Katrina cleanup in New Orleans. People had spent Sunday cleaning up and ripping out sheetrock. Skipped workout at nearly empty gym and went to office which is on high ground. Only cleanup for us is the expected one in our storage facility in the middle of the worst flooding in town. Now I’m worried about office paralegal who lives in the town adjacent to a medium sized river that crested 46+ feet where normal flood stage is 23 feet.
Saturday afternoon some young guys went water skiing in our “reservoir”; they drove a pickup on the bordering street to pull them.
Glad to hear you and Mrs. Biker are safe. Hoping all is well with your paralegal.
And yes, I have seen them water ski in the bar ditches in East Texas that way.
Stay safe.
Thursday 8/18
Lesser flood water levels returned Monday behind house. My exceptionally calm wife was anxious because of friends’ reports of water in their areas rising up to 10 feet in 30 minutes, so I moved our stuff to second floor as precaution. She finally stopped checking water level yesterday.
No gym this week. I did 10 almost decent handstand pushups this morning.
Paralegal stayed dry throughout while 90% of her town got 6 - 10 feet of water. Her swimming pool liner floated, water within 1 foot of house. Schools closed for at least a month. Neighboring law firm flooded. News said about 15% of affected area has flood insurance because no previous flooding.
Glad to here everyone is safe. The other stuff is just that, stuff.
8/19 handstand pushups 1 x 10
Sick !!! Awesome wrok
I agree. That’s crazy!
Jeez you guys I’m doing them up against a door.
Monday 8/22 legs
leg press 1 x 100 @ 90; hack squats 3 x 10 @ 225, 315, 405 ( was waiting for squat rack); squats. lousy, 3 x 10 @ 135, 215, 225 (tight shoulders from no warmup). Next time warm up.
Alpha 5’s recent video on “training logs” shows band stretching for that powerlifter grip of bar for front squats; I’m trying but today’s results aren’t worth posting.
Against the door or not, it’s pretty cool.
Tuesday 8/23 chest
warmup then incline bench 1 x 10 @ 135, 1 x 8 @ 155, 1 x 5 @ 185; dips 3 x 10; chest press machine 3 x 8 @ 230, 240, 250; cable flyes 3 x 8 @ 200, 210, 210; pec deck 3 x 8 @ 100, 100, 110;
no more posting from the tribal elder?
OG, how fitting for you to ask…
12 hours after last posted workout I went to emergency room for the first of 4 catheters inserted to drain 250 ccs from painfully enlarged bladder. Previous occasional prostate problems always resolved themselves, not this time. After 2 weeks of drugs, outpatient non cancer laser roto rooter surgery week ago fixed it; last catheter eventually removed. A urologist comedian wannabe is now my new best friend. 6 week lifting layoff.
I’ve had successful yearly prostate checkups for as long as I can remember, but last one was about 11 months ago. Dr said I should recover well because I am in better than average shape.
The catheter experience reminded me of that viagra warning about erections lasting longer than 4 hours.
