Good afternoon
I was wondering if you fine Gents could help with a bit of opinion on my latest labs ?
bit of background :: I turned 40 this year and heen suffering with low libido and general mood issues , i suspected low Testosterone ever since a round of major abdominal/intestinal surgery’s 10 years ago .
i went through an online pharmacy testosterone test , had a result of 9nmol/l - was prescribed Androgel/Testogel @ 2 pumps / day
2nd set of tests after 3 weeks showed off the chart T >52nmol/l result - pharmacy told me to reduce dose to one pump .
I asked for my labs but they kept fobbing me off with online portal information , so i tried another provider and a more advanced test - the results look like they are contaminated - i think the gel application or something has contaminated the test results ? as a result of 285 would be a major cycle i would think ?
The thing thats got me is the low Oestradol levels - surely thats not right ? i was on the lower dose for 4 days prior to this blood test .
Your mean cell volume is indicating microcytic anemia, in other words your iron deficient. The same thing happened to me except my iron deficiency was caused by a vitamin C deficiency because you can’t absorb iron if you are low on vitamin C.
It’s possible the extremely high testosterone has depleted you of iron and returning to a more appropriate testosterone level will correct the iron deficiency. If this labs are correct and not in error, you will need to move to injectable testosterone cypionate because your would then be considered a hyper absorber which would be considered rare around T-Nation or another other forum for that matter.

Thanks for the feedback
Interesting I just figured it was a contaminated sample the range for testosterone seemed too extreme , especially given the reduction in the improved symptoms I had for the first 4 weeks .
The anemia indicators thing might be related to my surgery’s , had ulcerative colitis and now have no colon
it’s defo worth bringing to the GP !!
Thanks for feedback - hopefully new provider will agree and put me on injectables
Something is not right. Unless taking an aromatase inhibitor, E2 wouldn’t drop like that on test, especially with a jell.
How are you feeling? Reduction in improved symptoms? Seems like labs error.
Anemia is common with UC.
My libido was finally improving beginning of week 4 and nighttime/morning glory was present - suddenly stopped around the end of week 4 , I figured high Estrogen as pharmacy said to reduce dose - but looking at those labs I was really confused -
New clinic seems to think it’s possible both samples are contaminated with test due to gel application ? Finger prick tests might not be good way of collecting bloods if applying gels ? Clinic did warn me that it’s real easy to contaminate , I scrubbed my hands pretty well and alcohol swabbed the digits prior to collection.
I’m thinking you may not be absorbing the gel very well and that E2 is the accurate result and the test result is due to contamination.
Thanks for the feedback - hoping to get put onto sustanon so at least I can get a proper reading of where I’m at , and more importantly sort this libido issue out -
Will see what clinic says
Finger prick test is not reliable for anything. I would get bloods done at a real lab.
