5'10'' 185 Lb

Rear delts and traps need work asap.

Rows and heavier deads asap.

Overall very solid.

I would agree delts really need work. You are looking good! Get those delts up and you will look awesome!

Update

solid man. back looks solid and arms look swole. legs look like they can use some more mass though.

Yeah that’s definitely true on the legs. Had two fractures on L4 and one on L5 and some partially torn muscle on left lumbar side in high school. Caused some sciatica and stuff, and I’ve never really gotten rid of it. Did PT and chiro for a while, but everytime i squat or DL heavy i get searing pain that’s really been discouraging. As much as I love those lifts, I might move to heavy dumbbell lunges for a bit to see what happens.

damn bro, i almost wanna say you get a pass on legs dealing with all that. stay strong fighting through it though.

Well done man. Way to bring up the mass, in a very quality way. The pose is much better in this pic than the first double back bi, but pretty much everything appears bigger (no ghey, lol). You look to have improved in the area people suggested.

Perhaps consider rack pulls instead of full dead lifts.

Now let me state that I know almost nothing from a medical perspective about the back or injuries to it.

But I do believe the L4 and L5 are in the lower back.

A good belt to support that area, and the partial range of movement of the rack pull’s higher start should limit stress on the lower back and place it more so on the upper back.

This should help tremendously to bring up your traps and upper back without compromising your lower back.

I feel that heavy lunges are less stable than any form of deadlift and maybe a recipe for injury considering your weakpoint, the lowerback, would be placed under less easily balanced and manageable stress.

BBB might be the person to ask in this case, as this would be his area of expertise.

Try some Bulgarian split squats, glute bridges, and Romanian deadlifts. If those don’t hurt you they can be amazing assets, I attribute those three lifts for a great portion of my leg development. Try pulling sumo too, see how that works out for you. I would think it would take most of the stress off your lower back.

I appreciate the feedback. I am going to start doing more split squats, and I may give the rack deads a try. I have a hard time letting the squats go because before I hurt my back they were a real strongpoint for me. I’ve tried some belts, but the pain I get seems to be lower than the area encompassed (it is lower back but way down right at the sacrum and SI joint). I felt great a few years ago when I was getting deep tissue therapy, but since I’ve been at college I haven’t been able to get that going.

Also, I did 3 sets of walking lunges with 70lb dumbbells with very little pain. I try to keep the movement fairly slow and controlled to minimize any lateral torque. I’ve also started doing single leg SLDL, per recommendations on this site, and really like those. In a few weeks I’ll hopefully have noticeable enough leg gains to post a picture.

Haha, thanks man, but damn if I’m gonna be “that guy”

I also have my good days, such as a few months ago when i pulled 405, which was both encouraging and terrible because i didn’t want to stop.

You may want to try these…

I didn’t even know there was a tmuscle article on these, but google poped this out with my search. It must be quite old.
I don’t post much but thought I could help out a little here.

Good work man
