I’m not an expert here… Perhaps KSMan would weigh in…
But, from my own experience, when I saw elevated FT, I inferred I have low SHBG. And in my case, I lowered my dosage.
Was originally at 200mg/week (yeah, I know). Sliced that down to 80mg/week. Divided EOD.
Turns out 80 was too low, 200 too high, so I’m at 120…
For me, the effect of too much FT reminded me of not enough TT. Blah, libido, bloating.
Best decision I made, titrating down off the 200mg ledge.
Just a thought. Google low SHBG… Maybe there’s something there.
Thanks IareChaz. I was just reading comments in another thread about excessive FT counteracting TRT. That surprised me, because I thought higher FT was a good thing. Now I’m wondering if my very high FT is holding me back. I’ve very tempted to ask for a smaller dose, but that lab showing such high FT was 4 days after the initial injection of 200mg. Second injection - 11 days later due to scheduling issues, was only 100mg. Not sure if it is in any way cumulative from dose to dose or not. Starting to think maybe I should just let my body adjust on 100mg/week and see what happens. The doctor didn’t order those interim labs. I just got them out of curiosity. He wouldn’t have me doing any new labs until about 5 weeks in. He is a well-respected doc, known to be very successful at TRT, so maybe I’m getting a little “over educated” and need to just let him do his job.
I let my body adjust to TRT injections . I felt great for first month ( since my body was producing some Test and I added Test - I had double level for a few weeks until my body shut natural production down ) after first month or so I got sensitive nipples and developed ED. Got my E2 tested and it was 64 .
Dr refused ARIMEDEX so I ordered from research chemical and after several weeks on it my E2 went down and ED disappeared . Do yourself a favor and be determined to get E2 to normal levels - drs don’t seem to care about E2 .
Thanks Sir toddington. I’ll definitely be looking for those symptoms. My doctor seems to understand the importance of keeping E2 at the right level, he’s just on a different schedule about it than I’d like. I will push harder at next visit to be sure we get that started.
