50% of Tax Dollars Going to the Military

Yes, these guys interpret history through a cause and effect bias instead of using a workable theory. Mainstream historical texts, where the majority of people learn history from, are good at providing the historical facts but do nothing to properly interpret it because they do not understand the science of human action.

For the most part the post that everyone is criticizing you for is partially correct but way too simplistic.

There has only been one war fought in this country for actual freedom. All other wars were unnecessary for the US to get involved in.

And how do you oppose cruel governments from taking control? Seriously, how do you suggest you do that?

Uh, you do realize my question still stands, and all you did was confirm that no one in the past 70 years has been able to change that, right?

In all honesty, regardless of what happened in the past, most of you guys sound like a bunch of people bitching and moaning. Sound like the type of people who bitch and compain about things, but dont do a fucking thing to make anything better. If you dont like it so much, what are you doing to be proactive about changing it?

You are right, we put people into office, then they fuck up and everyone points the finger. Maybe if people would pull their heads out of their asses, then vote others into office, we wouldnt have such issues.

So, I am curious to know, what do you people think would have been the proper action for the United States to take after 9/11 and Sadaam claiming to have WMD’s and threatening to use them? I am talking about if you were in Bush’s shoes, did not know what we know now, what would you have done? Sat back and let these terrorist attack us, showing the rest of the world that its ok to attack the US, we will just lay down and take it?

well last time I checked I’m in the military and I’m BELOW the poverty line… I think more money for E-3s =)

…unfortunately, the military would rather the next generation of tanks and boats, for the next grand-conventional war that will never be fought instead of paying a decent wage. But you can’t complain about the benefits.

Hmmmm. Are you married? Any kids? If not, then you most likely get a small paycheck. However, if thats the case, you most likely live in government housing, are provided all the food you need, dont pay for a gym membership, get to shop at the Bx or whatever other services call it, and everything else.

Fact is, as an E-3, you dont need much money. When I was an E-3, I lived in the dorms (until I got married) and had plenty of money.

Good Point Smithers.

I have no clue, but if you are military or served I would like to say thank you.

The military complex is not our biggest financial burden. The federal reserve is. This country has been headed for financial ruin since 1913. The constitution clearly states that only congress shall have the right to coin money. That’s a problem in and of itself, politicians view the constitution as “just a piece of paper.” Medicare/aid, social security and the plethora of entitlement programs are what’s really killing our budget. Fractional reserve banking needs to be done away with. For the clueless-that means that a bank can only lend out as much money as it has in reserves. The reserve amount is currently 10%. Why can’t I start a savings account with 10k, and accrue interest on 100k? That is the same as a bank collecting 4% apr on a 250k loan even though they only have 25k in thier account. The federal reserve is a security blanket for big banks so they can make risky financial decisions and not fret the consequences. We have military bases in 70 countries, I think. Someone please correct me if that is wrong, but here is my source (The Worldwide Network of US Military Bases - Global ResearchGlobal Research - Centre for Research on Globalization) While we do this for our own benefit, it also benefits the people of these occupied areas by keeping turmoil and violence at bay. If we are the “police of the world”, then we should be getting paid for it. Our military strength is one of our best and only assets. Omar speaks the truth, we put most people in power throughout the world.
