All you do is dance around what is originally stated in a post. You stated that you would pop any little old lady in the throat for listening to Ann Coulter. You have a liberal outlook on everything. You act like an elitist.
First, at least quote me directly because that isn’t what was stated. Second, I just proved you wrong in your comment that all of my opinions are leftists. They aren’t. 'Nuff said. It was PROVEN to you in the thread on carrying guns. You still overlook this and try to stereotype how I think. Elitist? Because your views seem juvenile to me? So be it.
As for your gun control stance, all you really said is that “some people” should be allowed to have them. I guess those would be your elitist budddies. Since you can’t ever really pick a stance on an arugment, I’m going to do what you do to everyone. What are you some kind of retard, you would honestly make a statement that you would pop an old lady in the throat over her political beliefs. You are an ass, a monster of society with an extremely low level of intelligence. Oh I almost forgot to play the race card, wait there is nowhere to do it here so I will just make an obscure reference to needs of a metal detector in “that” neighborhood.
Uh, you really don’t have it all, do you? Some people? So you think ALL PEOPLE should have guns? Does this include criminals or potential threats to society? How about dumbasses who don’t even know how to handle a weapon who just bought one because in your world, they are free without restriction? I pointed out the latest school shooting for a reason, because there is a problem with guns in our society…and it isn’t just those who stand out as stereotypical criminals. They are also kids who grew up in nice homes in suburban areas. That implies that something needs to be done and reducing all restrictions may not be that thing. You seem to only be able to see in all black or all white. Your sight is limited. Of course you would think this is elitist. You can’t think beyond “liberal” and “conservative”. Apparently, common sense has nothing to do with your views.
You are a waste of my time, maybe you should take your own advice and read what other people have written. You’re just a condascending elitist wannabe.
Elitism is beginning to sound like a pretty big club. How can I be elitist if everyone else is too?
There is nothing elitist about thinking for yourself and having an opinion.
Prof, do what I did, I bought a t-shirt, which I’m wearing today, because I get a chuckle out of it, which says:
If “elitist” just means “not the dumbest motherfucker in the room,” I’ll be an elitist!
So, wearing it at work is a bit risque, but the writing isn’t big enough to make it blatant unless I stand still for too long.
Anyway, I’m starting to take elitist as a compliment…
Hey, maybe I can turn the conservative viewpoint around on this one. You know, people are different, and if you are too limited in your thinking and writing to be able to express yourself, that is okay, and there is nothing elitist in pointing that out. It’s okay if we talk about differences between people, especially if they are true.
God knows conservatives and republicans around these parts like to talk about the differences between people!
Part of the labelling dilemma is simply a person trying to make sense of the world. We think in terms of concepts and these are generalizations drawn from our percepts. For this reason, we have to be very certain of our perceptions.
Another trouble we have is the resurgence of the religious frame of mind. Taking something on faith is fine when it concerns God, but suspending one’s rational judgment when dealing with the world around us causes much of our evils – one need only examine the nearest terrorist.

What I was saying is that everyone of your beliefs is in line with a left leaning liberal. Therefore your beliefs fall in context with the democratic party. If it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck…
See, now you are just plain lying. You showed how much you didn’t know about how I think when you accused me of being against gun ownership. This, of course, was false, especially considering my military association. You simply show again and again that the only way you can think…is to throw people in neat little boxes. Once you can’t, it confuses you. If it walks like a duck and sounds like a duck, it must be yet another close minded groupie who thinks their political affiliation makes them superior. If you only knew how you were really viewed by others that don’t follow “group think”.
Thanks for putting it so well. I’ve voted for Bush twice, worked on a Republican senator’s campaign, and interned at the neo-con think tank, yet for opposing the legitimization of torture and pointing out that Anne Coulter is the right-wing equivalent of Michael Moore, I’m a “liberal”?
p.s. Please dont nit-pick about spelling unless it is atrocious. It shows a tendency to attack a person rather than their argument and generally does more harm than good.

I generally agree with you, but if someone’s bringing their place in academia into this and then getting their nouns mixed up, I figure it’s fair game.
You teach at a college and you don’t know the difference between “tenant” and “tenet”? Hmmmm…
Well, first of all, I’ve been sick as a dog, which made me miss that one. But secondly, of all the things in this thread, THAT’S what you choose to comment on? A guy says he’d punch anyone in the throat who dislikes Ann Coulter and you ignore that but go after my momentary lapse in spelling?!? (The guy who wrote that is obviously off-the-rails.) You liberals never cease to amaze me. A throat strike, a potentially lethal strike against someone because they happen to be a conservative, that gets ignored?

I’m pretty sure he didn’t mean it literally. As a fan of Anne Coulter and her “wit”, I’m sure you’re used to rhetorical hyperbole.

Now, wouldn’t that mean you are elitist in your view of me? Silly rabbit. Hypocrisy, it’s not just for kids anymore.

So he gets a pass on wanting to punch someone in the throat, but you criticize me for my ‘lapse’? That’s truly beyond belief. I can guess what the 37 in your user-name stands for.

Professor, earlier in this thread, you complained about being tagged as a liberal. You then assigned the term ‘conservative’ to me. Maybe you’ve been ‘exploring your herbal horizons’ and suffered some memory loss.
Honestly, Professor, the quality of your posts has come down in recent years. Are YOU the one who is imbibing?
Since this thread is way off-topic and has degenerated to an insult-fest, I leave it and happily look forward to our verbal-sparring on another thread. Goodnight, all!!

The difference is, dumbass, that Prof was labeled a liberal as part of the ongoing discussion. He then hit back with the ‘conservative’ call, clearly using it ironically.

I agree. He was wanking on about the three forms of argument, Modus Tens, Modus Penis, and Biggus Dickus, or some other shit, trying to impress us with his education, and he fell down on basic spelling. LOL

Well, Deano…spelling is not one the tenants of Headhunter’s personal philosophy.
